No, I simply demonstrated that your belief that spanking leads to good outcomes is untrue. It only takes one child who was spanked as part of his “discipline” routine to become a criminal to prove that spanking doesn’t equal good outcomes. That’s basic logic.

Hard to criticize Adrian over this. What did the child do to deserve the whipping? Depending on the offense, punishment needs to ensure the child understands that that behavior is not tolerated. Hard to cricize?!?! What ON EARTH could a 4 yr old child do, that warrants being beaten until he's bloodied and left with welts that last for days?
After all these years, my lesson in what constitutes "conservatism" here at FR continues...

My old man spanked me. No more than that. It worked, but when my child is older I don't see myself even doing that to him, unless he put himself in death's way doing something ridiculous.
There's punishment and then there's abuse. This was clear abuse.
