Very often police are called by a whiny public to deal with these minor issues.
Its legal for me to walk through downtown Ann Arbor with a rifle slung over my shoulder but if I do, police will show up because they’ll get dozens of frantic calls. (a fair number of Ann Arbor residents would outright lie and say I was threatening people to get police there faster)
Then the police should be doing some return visits to ‘enlighten’ those of the wimpy stature, and prosecute those that file false reports
Of course, that would take away from the jaywalking, speed trap, etc. revenue streams
