(CNN) -- Atlanta Hawks general manager Danny Ferry is taking an indefinite leave of absence, the NBA team's CEO announced Friday, days after a report surfaced about comments Ferry allegedly made about a free agent player.
Ferry made the remarks about Luol Deng during a June conference call about prospective players, according to a letter obtained by CNN affiliate WSB.
J. Michael Gearon Jr., a minority owner of the Hawks, wrote that in that letter that Ferry described some of Deng's negatives, stating that "he has a little African in him. Not in a bad way, but he's like a guy who would have a nice store out front but sell you counterfeit stuff out of the back.'"

All but two players on the roster of the Hawks are black. I wonder what recommendations the Chief Diversity Officer will have.

They need to hire more white players, some homos, transvestites, short people, fat people, Mexicans, a few muslims and a manly lesbian or two.

Donald Sterling didn't say anything wrong. He's declared senile and is forced to sell a team. This guy writes something way out of line for stereotyping. He gets a leave up absence. Another owner says something about there being a "tipping point" where if there are too many blacks at an event, it will cause white attendance to decline. That's true.
To all of these cases....SO WHAT??? Whatever happened to freedom of speech? Find me a person who never said something stupid, and I'll find you a person who has no vocal cords.
