Nearly fifty senior commanders of a major coalition of Islamic 'moderates' opposed to ISIS in Syria have been killed by an explosion at their secret command bunker as they met to discuss strategy against the the Islamic State.

The blast in the Northwest region of Idlib, Syria on Tuesday killed senior members of rebel group the Ahrar-al-Sham brigade (AaS), including leader Hassan Abboud and 45 others including senior members from other rebel alliance groups, reports The Times. The Idlib region stands in AaS territory, but it is close to the front-line with ISIS in neighbouring Aleppo.

>>>>>>>>>I may have got the term wrong (probably did). Could have been dal ar Sallam/al dar sallam/Dar al sallam. Something to that effect.<<<<<

Salaam is peace. Dar es Salaam (Harbour of Peace) is a port city in Tanzania.

You are referring to religious term Dar Ul Islam = the house of Islam, i.e. regions of the World where Islam rules. In the meaning of submission, submit or die.

Islamists call the unconquered World where they do not rule for now Dar Al Harb (lit. House of War).

When living in Dar Ul Islam, Muslims must follow Sharia law. When living in Dar Ul Harb, they live like undercover Muslims, pretending to be liberal until they reach 10% of census when they openly ask for rights and protection against perceived segregation. When they reach 20% of the population they wage war. Seen in all conflicts so far.

This dynamic is quite chilling. For starters read about taqiyah.

They are incompatible with any other form of government.

What I can not tell for the life of me is why the Powers that be support their conquest.

Thank you for the clarification. That’s it exactly.

Notice the people that want this are all liberal men and crazy women. Liberal men because as western libs they crave power over others and are often natural born mysogynists and as the 1800s showed us, slaveowners. The women because they are literally mentally deficient as shown by A: their liberalism and B: their desire for submission. One could literally blame a lot of it about it being a supressed feminist rape fantasy. They know they are wrong in their beliefs because the world does not work like a college woyminZ studies course says it HAS to. But muslims ‘forcing’ them to submit lets them deny their stated feminism and still be a victim. It gives them an excuse to purge their inner conflict and revel in it.

They are both screwloose. The above is easy to believe considering their insanity.

How exactly is a Muslim, by any accepted definition a good guy? Their entire being comes from adherence/promotion to a doctrine of evil.

That is the FReeper orthodoxy.

At what point of muslim doctrine do you take exception with said Orthodoxy, bearing in mind said exception should apply to all humans rather than just other muslims?

-——Shades of Massod..-——

Doubt it... If anything Israel would remain neutral on the ASA since they are fighting ISIL....

Last thing Israel wants is a border country controlled by ISIL...

At least Assad was smart enough to leave Israel alone for the most part....

Ahrar al-Sham

CBS - Feb 23, 2014

Two suicide bombers killed a senior al Qaeda operative on Sunday, blowing themselves up inside the militant leader's compound in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo, rebels and activists said.

Abu Khaled al-Suri was the representative of al Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahri in Syria, rebels said. He was also a co-founder of Ahrar al-Sham, a powerful, hard-line Syrian rebel group seeking the overthrow of President Bashar Assad.

The Telegraph (UK) - Nov 14, 2013

Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham militants say sorry for decapitating a fellow extremist rather than enemy

Breitbart - Sep 2013

Previous reports had indicated that the attack on the town was carried out by al Qaeda-linked rebels. While it's true that the al Qaeda affiliated Jabhat al-Nusra group was attacking the village alongside the extremist Ahrar al Sham, it's now clear that the Free Syrian Army also participated in the attack.

Brookings - Jan 2014

The need for operational flexibility became especially acute last week, when it emerged that a leading member of Ahrar al-Sham, one of the most effective rebel groups battling Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime, had close ties to al Qaeda.

But Wait! There's More!

Reuters - Feb 2014

A Syrian rebel commander who fought alongside al Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden and was close to its current chief, Ayman al-Zawahiri, was killed by a suicide attack on Sunday, intensifying infighting between rival Islamist fighters.

The Observatory for Human Rights in Syria said Abu Khaled al-Soury, also known as Abu Omair al-Shamy, a commander of the Salafi group Ahrar al-Sham was killed along with six comrades by al Qaeda splinter group the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

Maryland Coordination and Analysis Center (state government) - Dec 2013

A senior al Qaeda operative known as Abu Khalid al Suri is a leading figure in Ahrar al Sham, a Syrian extremist group that is part of the recently formed Islamic Front. Al Suri's real name is Mohamed Bahaiah. Bahaiah is a longtime al Qaeda operative who worked as a courier for the terror network. Spanish authorities think he may have delivered surveillance tapes of the World Trade Center and other American landmarks to al Qaeda's senior leadership in Afghanistan in early 1998.

I interpreted the piece to mean they were the doctors, lawyers farmers and ex Syrian military officers that began the revolution and were panned by obama.

Obama somehow forgot that it was such men that declared independence and won the revolution against the king of England

The article does not mention “doctors, lawyers farmers”. What did you interpret to mean “doctors, lawyers, farmers”?

I look at it like this. The book they base their existance on and the guy in it leave no ambiguity as to Who is ‘us’ and who is ‘them’. There are multiple passages proclaiming that all...no exceptions...ALL non muslims are to converted or killed. There are also numerous passages commanding muslims to treat each word as, pardon the term, ‘gospel’.

There is no such thing as a moderate muslim. Such would be considered an apostate and/or infidel, thus falling under the commands that they be killed.

I didn’t make it up. Nor do I think that I know their book (although I have read it) better than the faithful themselves. I am also familiar with the concept of taqquya (SP?) that commands them to lie to the infidel until they are strong enough to kill the infidel... also directly from their book. I fully support any in the west that wish to believe in unicorns, Santa Claus, leprachauns or “moderate muslims”. Because in the case of ‘moderate’ muslims, those people getting back stabbed, butchered and beheaded will allow me additional time to aim before they turn their religious ‘moderation’ on the rest of us.

Early on, such folk left Syria and congregated in camps in Turkey. They were the original Syrian revolution that was hijacked by the radicals. There were high Syrian officers that defected to the Turkish enclave

The American CIA was part of the coalition including the rebels, Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. For reasons never revealed, Obama deserted the group and pulled out.

“I think you misread — these are the moderates opposed to ISIS.”

Who, exactly, claims they are moderates, upon what do they base this assertion, and with what proof do they maintain the assertion?

Do they make women wear the hijab?

I do not know the answers to these questions and only ask in hopes that you do.
