I am not a spokesman for Sen. McConnell and do not feel obligated to defend every word he has ever uttered. But I do know the basic facts: McConnell does have one of the most conservative voting records in the US Senate. Among other things McConnell is:

1) pro-life
2) pro-traditional marriage
3) pro-gun
4) pro-oil
5) pro-coal
6) pro-nuclear
7) pro-Keystone
8) pro-business
9) pro-right to work
10) Voted against Obamacare
11) Voted against the Porkulus
12) Voted against Dodd-Frank
13) Voted against Cap and Trade
14) Voted against BHO’s SCOTUS appointments.

Is McConnell perfect? Of course not. No one is. But the facts I mentioned above are enough reasons to vote for him over his Democrat opponent.

What in the hell are you talking about. I'm talking about the vote taken in the Senate. Last account I had, Milton Wolf was not a Senator. You RINO lovers are like the Democrats. When you have no valid argument, you come up with the most ridiculous crap. With each and every Post on here, you lose more and more credibility.

McConnell votes conservative when it is convenient (translation, when it does not count), but routinely votes for closure to stop any filibuster. McConnell is openly hostile to the tea party. He may be good at political theater, but he has been a failure as a conservative leader.

If we hold on to the house, we have grid-lock. If we take the senate, there will be huge pressure compromise to show action... McConnell has done a horrid job of managing those compromises in the past. Our military is being gutted by the sequester.

Given a choice of a future draft choice for a conservative, or continue with someone openly hostile to the conservative cause taking up space...

I think McConnell fails to make the case that a conservative should vote for him. But please, with all the talk of reason and logic... please show me I’m wrong and tell me what you think McConnell will accomplish with a senate majority (but not the presidency) in the next two years that merits a vote. I don’t live in his state, but others who do might read your response... so give it a try.

They don’t have a valid argument. I’ve called out the “vote for the R!” crowd on several threads to justify why voting for a Rino Senator is preferable to gridlock... I never get an answer.

This is a TERRIBLE strategy you are promoting.

In the 2006 midterm elections, the Dems won a smashing victory taking control of both the House and the Senate building a strong foundation for their even bigger victory in 2008 when they took control of the presidency an added to their US Senate majority giving them a filibuster-proof US Senate.

I would suggest we do likewise even if that means voting for GOP candidates who are less than 100% perfect, which I guess is the new definition of RINO around here. Even RR would be deemed a RINO by some around here. His track record as governor of CA was not always 100% perfect by current measurements.

Also in answer to your question:

What exactly would a GOP controlled US Senate accomplish?

Answer: Practically nothing with the possible exception of blocking some bad judicial appointments.

BHO will simply veto anything he doesn’t like coming out of Congress. Pure and simple.

GOP control of both houses of Congress can only guarantee continued stalemate as long as BHO is president. Which is what we want for the next two years.

As Obamacare has already been held up by the SCOTUS, the ONLY way to ever get rid of it is elect a GOP POTUS, House, and Senate dedicated to repealing it.

Calm down now. I was talking about the primary. Roberts is no RINO and you use that term around here like the left uses the race card. When you have no valid argument you play the RINO card. Please tell me what Robert's vote has your panties in a wad?

Uh huh? And do you also remember that McConnell and Cornyn only “picked” 5 others, from the GOP, to vote with them and let all the other GOP Senators vote a “Save Your Ass” vote?Since 26 GOP Senators voted with McConnell, I don't remember things the way you do.

Show me a quote from Reagan saying he would destroy conservatives and I’ll concede the point. Otherwise, it is a long stretch to compare McConnel to Reagan.

We can block progress without McConnel, we now have more democrat appellate judges than ones appointed by Republicans. McConnel has been an epic failure at blocking judges. Time to let the next guy try.

In some cases McConnell is even more conservative than RR was.

McConnell is solidly pro-life. RR signed a law liberalizing abortions as governor of CA.

RR also supported some tax hikes both as governor and POTUS. What tax hikes has McConnell voted for in recent years?

Point is no one is perfect and McConnell is VASTLY preferable to his Dem opponent.

This race is a no brainer. There is nothing to ponder. Nothing to think about. The choice is obvious with respects to McConnell versus Grimes and for that matter Roberts versus Orman.

I don’t demand perfect. Governer good hair (Perry) made some decisions regarding vaccinations and the transcontinental corridor that I don’t like. He is not my preference for president, but I could live with it.

McConnels fatal flaw was declaring war on conservatives and betraying their strategy to stop bills that McConnel should have stopped but did not.

Obama care happened on Mitch’s watch. Nothing Reagan ever did compares to that. The GOPe now has a trust issue with the base. If they want the conservative vote, they need to campaign for it and the. Keep those promises. “Well get em next year...” No longer flies.

Action speaks louder than words. I judge McConnell the same way I judge any other politicians. With legislators I look most carefully their voting records. I think McConnell’s voting record is correct on all of the major issues of the day including:

1) abortion
2) marriage
3) guns
4) energy
5) taxes
6) spending
7) Keystone
8) national security
9) judicial appointments
10) Obamacare
11) Porkulus
12) Dodd-Frank
13) Cap and Trade
14) ANWR

ETC ETC ETC. I could go on and on and on. Fact is McConnell has one of the most conservative records in the US Senate. I do not work for him and I don’t feel obligated to defend everything he has ever said, especially in the heat of a campaign battle.

But do you honestly think this US Senate seat should be turned over to a liberal Democrat like Alison Grimes? Are her views and positions closer to yours?

We need to get over the emotionalism and look at the hardcore reality of the election. It is really a no brainer in this particular race. There have been many instances throughout my life in which the candidate I supported in the primary did not win. But I didn’t sit out the election or throw away my vote on third party candidates or vote for the Democrat out of spite.

TIME TO GROW UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
