The problem with a paid political class of ruling elites is that they can always be bought; I don’t see either party representing American workers as their jobs are transferred to newcoming foreigners.
Moving jobs overseas is a regrettable effect of globalization (though pretending the host countries of said jobs are “enemies” in any way - like Red China - is just absurd theater); it is even worse to bring in foreigners when such a large pool of idle labor exists here. It seems everywhere one can see Asians replacing our white-collar workers and Hispanics replacing the blue-collar ones; the standard of living for American workers is falling quickly, and both parties are complicit.
I don’t know; many female co-workers (black & white) bemoan the fall in their standard of living, and black co-workers in general are fairly downcast - they were briefly tasting real middle-class living (cruises, new cars, putting their children through college), and that has crumbled for them.
In the immortal word of Gen. Honore, Obama’s core supporters are “stuck on stupid.” They would vote a third term and a fourth term, thinking that things would improve if only he has more time. These people didn’t grow up, and the nation is suffering for it.
The LIV’s believe the fact he is there is adequate reson for him to stay there.

There’s a vast pent-up reservoir of economic populism in this country. It terrifies me but Liz Warren could very easily win IMO.
