In 1992 the National AOH directed all AOH organizations to form separate corporations to run events such as the Parade. The Parade is run today by members of the AOH under a separate corporation, St. Patrick’s Day Parade Inc.Don’t know if that is when the secular influences started chipping away at the parade, but it has certainly come to a pass these days no matter the cause.

OK Here is what I found out through research.
Gays did once march in the New York Parade.They did not carry a banner.They were booed and had beer spilled on them so it was stopped.Also Philly and Chicago let Gays march but I have never seen them.The AOH are not in charge anymore because of lawsuits.The name of the group in charge is http://www.nycstpatricksparade.org/home.html
