I’m glad we are arming the Kurds, for now. But the nature of the middle east is that, sooner or later, everything you do eventually bites you in the butt.
Somehow, someway, we will eventually be bitten by the Kurds. They can’t possibly be as saintly as we believe.
Still - for now, they’re the best ‘friend’ in Iraq/Syria - light years better than the ‘moderate rebels’.
That’s a real risk.
I hope that these guys do get an independent nation out of N. Iraq, but seriously don’t push it by screwing with Turkey.
They seem sane and realist, but it IS the middle east.
