In a televised address on how to address the Islamic State this evening, President Barack Obama declared the organization variously known as ISIS or ISIL to be “not Islamic.”
In making this preposterous claim, Obama joins his two immediate predecessors in pronouncing on what is not Islamic. Bill Clinton called the Taliban treatment of women and children “a terrible perversion of Islam.” George W. Bush deemed that 9/11 and other acts of violence against innocents “violate the fundamental tenets of the Islamic faith.”
None of the three has any basis for such assertions. To state the obvious: As non-Muslims and politicians, rather than Muslims and scholars, they are in no position to declare what is Islamic and what is not. As Bernard Lewis, a leading American authority of Islam, notes: “It is surely presumptuous for those who are not Muslims to say what is orthodox and what is heretical in Islam.”

I pretty much agree with what you have said there. This is not a religion. It is a death cult. Lying isn’t a problem for people who think the behaviors exhibited by terrorists are reasoned. Even if one doesn’t buy into that description, the fact that he buys into Islam at all, with it’s sordid traits, reveals a severely flawed person on the face of it.

In this instance, I wouldn't be surprised that he would defend "his" statement (understanding there's a cosmologically remote chance he will ever be asked to explain "his" words).

There is more. We should try to make the whole world, including those trapped in Islam, aware of Islam's errors. How many know the Quran well enough to address its many errors? How many freedom loving people speak and write Arabic well? We not only need translators but also apologists. People living under Islam's thumb are not free to live free, to speak their minds, to explore the options. Many millions of people, crushed under its dead weight, especially women and children,long for freedom. What are we offering them for a road out? We need more patriotic Americans who know this religion/death cult well enough to answer and point out the mistakes. Only when a majority know what sharia is, for example, are we going to be able to restrict its slow spread through our society. Until most people KNOW it is a freedom-destroying criminal cult, it will be protected under “freedom of religion” laws.
Every criticism of Islam should include a quote from the Koran showing that the evil being done is following a precept of the “religion”

Their actions and beliefs certainly are not Christ like.... But they most certainly claim to be Christian based....
For that reason, it seems to me the reverence and fervor that Islam's adherents bring to their death cult they would completely ascribe to "their religion." Indeed, virtually all the world's dictionary definitions of religion would side with considering Islam to be a religion.
Though I agree with you and see its adherents as fundamentally and inherently flawed with respect to the true God, our NT scripture (Jas. 1:27) calls pure and undefiled religion: "to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world."
I'm sure millions of Muslims care for and visit orphans and widows in their distress, while being oblivious to the mass-delusional, vile and worldly stain Muhammed promulgated onto his followers and slaves and was able to perpetuate through his writings and its submissive adherents, down through the centuries.
I would understand that God has had His Hand in the mass delusion of these lost creatures and though Mohammed and the Prince of This World surely meant Islam for evil onto God's chosen and elect, God causes all things to work together for good to those who love Him, to those who are called according to His purpose. (Rom. 8:28)
