Russia says US airstrikes without UN mandate would be act of aggression
The Jerusalem Post ^ | September 11, 2014

Russia's foreign ministry said on Thursday airstrikes against Islamist militants in Syria without a UN Security Council mandate would be an act of aggression, Interfax news agency reported.

"The US president has spoken directly about the possibility of strikes by the US armed forces against ISIL positions in Syria without the consent of the legitimate government," ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said.

"This step, in the absence of a UN Security Council decision, would be an act of aggression, a gross violation of international law."

F’em...I find myself enraged this morning at the cowardly disgusting leadership in this country. At the same time I grieve for the loss of so many Americans unnecessarily murdered by terrorists and their sympathizers!

And the Russians had a U.N. mandate to invade Ukraine?

So, flying into Syria without permission from Syria? If it wasn’t for the dire consequences at stake here, it would be absolutely hilarious.

Lol! Well I guess we could always take a page from Putin's Ukraine playbook and just say all those stealth fighters and laser guided bombs hitting ISIS must belong to “internal separatist groups” because they certainly aren't ours...(innocent whistling)....

Which brings to mind the comments of numerous pro-Russian clowns who say that Russia knows how to handle muslims and is gonna save the world from islam blah blah.

so would Pootie ask the UN to try obama for war crimes?
or just ratchet up his nuclear stance?

the punk obama is preparing to play with the big boys now, and without congress having a role or a say

surely there will be pictures of Syrian hospitals orphanages schools and mosques destroyed by US strikes as obamites use the opportunity to go after assad and help the IS directly or indirectly with no congressional oversighr

(crickets)

Bush spent a lot of time getting the UN to go along with things, and was still criticized by the left for “going it alone.” And yet the left adores this crazy nutbag Obama, who is “going it alone” only so he can protect ISIS while making it look like he’s opposed, and who hasn’t even mentioned the UN.

I think that’s exactly what this is about and why Putin (who supports Assad) is getting involved.

Obama is not “attacking ISIS” in his unilateral hit on Syria; he’s actually supporting the anti-Assad “rebels,” half of whom ARE actually ISIS affiliates or ISIS supporters.

This is very dangerous and because Obama has ruled out the participation of Congress, he can do whatever stupid thing he wants with no oversight or restraint...and we’ll all pay the consequences.

OK we’ll take the ISIS question to the UN if they’ll take their invasion of the Ukraine to the UN. Deal?

Obama should work this out with Assad, get his ok.

If it can't be worked out, a speedy UN mandate is necessary. The last thing we need is a world dictator. Especially one un-vented having suspected non conservative leanings

It's his country and Assad has spent many years and casualties fighting Islamists, so have the Russians. We, by contrast have helped the Islamists gain foot holds in the Shahs' Iran, Gaddaffi's'Lybia, Mubaracks' Egypt, and recently Assads' Syria.
