I read the account from the contractors. And while they say he had his hands up, the one said he was walking toward the officer with his hands up, and then later put his hands down. That witness said that when the last shot was fired, Brown was 8-10 feet away from the officer — who the contractor said was BACKING UP the whole time.
So, the guy had his hand up, but also closed a 100-foot distance while being shot at by a man backing away from him.
CNN just grabbed the most sensationalist part. Frankly, if he testified in court exactly as he is quoted in the article I read, he’d probably end up being a witness for the cop.
If you have a weapon and are being engaged, why would be you backing up. What kind of drug can cause that.
