More women will recognise the situation than will want to admit it. You're young and a little tipsy, a delightful guy chats you up, you drink some more and end up at one or other's flat.
Then you dance and laugh and drink some more... ending up in bed together. In the morning, you can hardly remember what happened, let alone whether you used contraception.
Have you been there? I have, all of 47 years ago, in my first year of university. Some things don't change, do they?
Of course, we all know such behaviour is not to be encouraged - not least because it could end in not just tears, but a baby or an abortion.
And that's the subject of a wonderful new film causing controversy in America, which has just opened here.
Obvious Child tells the truth about abortion and that's something few women would shout openly and which pro-life groups would rather suppress.
For the fact is that for many people who have had one, including myself, an abortion is no big deal.

Bel, the worst kind of lie is the lie you tell yourself.
But if the guy was charged with manslaughter that is still being charged with a crime for causing the death of the child. murder generally carries the idea of premeditation or actually wishing to kill someone, that’s not the case here I imagine.
While I will not deign to speak for God, my bet is literally “Hell Yes” unless they truly repent. And then it is still a big deal to God.
the POINT is the baby dying is not treated like if he had hit her and she had to have her spleen removed.
it’s the bipolar/schitzo nature of libtard logic. it’s only a baby when they want to use it as leverage against someone else. they want to play around with who bets to be a person when they say, not like us who admit from conception it’s a unique genetic individual.
How utterly sad that she does not think killing her own child was a big deal. Just as sad, is that her husband went along with it.
What does this even mean to "suppress" it? There's no suppressing going on - murdering babies is indeed a big deal. "I killed my kid just because he/she was inconvenient and it doesn't bother me" is not a refutation of the pro-life position - in fact this person brazenly commenting on it like a child's life doesn't mean anything to some people pretty much proves the point.
Which says a great deal about you...none of it good.
After 47 years to reflect on the implications of your decision, you refer to it as "no big deal". Young people make mistakes. But those with souls realize later, somewhere along the way, that what they did was wrong. And feel remorse. You can't even fake remorse. That's pathological.
Liberalism is a mental disorder - this is just the latest in countless examples to prove it.
For some women it’s always ME, ME, ME, ME, ME.
If I were an acquaintance of hers, I would never trust her. Nor would I ever loan her money because she might decide that she needs it more than I.
About forty one years ago I took a volunteer job at a major (world famous, actually) Boston hospital.Specifically,I was assigned to work for the hospital's chief neuropathologist, whose office was, understandably,in the pathology department. One day, while performing my assigned tasks,I had to go into the autopsy room.Being a major research and teaching hospital one could see certain areas of the room (it was big) lined with containers of various sizes. The huge containers contained hearts, lungs and livers...the smaller ones contained kidneys, among other things. On a shelf was even smaller containers including one that looked like a quart-sized pickle jar.In that container were several (four or five) human fetuses. This was before Roe v Wade so I can only assume that they were from miscarriages and stillbirths. They were all about the size of my thumb, all absolutely appeared to be perfectly formed (although perhaps there was *something* wrong with each) and the view I had of one of them showed that he/she actually needed his/her fingernails clipped. It's an image that will remain with me until I draw my last breath.
Feminists constantly remind us how strong willed, independent and self-sufficient they are.. That is until they spread their legs.
IOW, Mz. Mooney was/is a drunken slut with no conscience and no concept of responsibility.
Shame your mother didn’t have the same feelings Bell!
“I misplaced my pills in the move [and was not responsible or self-controlled enough to abstain until I restarted them] and, bingo.” So I made the “responsible” choice of abortion. At least she thinks there should be limits. Most pro-aborts in American want no restrictions whatsoever and act like pain relief for fetuses at 20 weeks, mandating sanitary conditions and emergency hospital arrangements are tantamount to putting them in burkas.
liberalism is an interruption in the natural profression to a fully functioning independent adult human being. they are stuck in perpetual adolesence.
I'd bet a month's pay a sizeable percentage of them are sociopathic.
I just find it sad and disturbing that someone would think that abortion is no big deal
The stats of middle-aged women who had an abortion in their younger years and who end up with psychological issues and require therapy...
...would refute this baby-killer’s indifference.
I sometimes wish that a homosexuality gene would actually be discovered. When parents start aborting babies because they have it, it would cause liberals' heads to explode.
Yeah ... Thanks for that. I appreciate your comment.
