Opposition leader MK Yitzhak Herzog (Labor) was assured by officials in Washington on Tuesday that the United States will not compromise on the issue of Iran’s nuclear program.

Herzog met at the White House with President Barack Obama's chief of staff, Denis McDonough, and deputy national security adviser Tony Blinken, and told them that the fight against the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) is just as important as trying to stop Iran’s nuclear program.

Israeli media reported that the two officials assured Herzog that alongside the common global struggle against the IS, the United States does not intend to change its position regarding Iran’s development of nuclear weapons. …

I don’t see how we have any credibility left, after Obama’s wall to wall lies, omissions and deceptions. Maybe the other countries are so desperately afraid of ISIS (with good reason) that they have no choice but to take another gamble on the ‘Somewhat United’ States.

Some things can’t be sold. Some salesman can’t sell anything. At this stage in the international relations game, Obama has zip, squach, zilch credibility with anyone, enemy or ally. Nobody takes him seriously, and nobody believes him. He simply can’t be trusted.

Herzog is from the Yossi Beilin wing of Israeli politics: anything and everything is negotiable, blame Israel first and no matter how many Jews are murdered in the name of their idiotic fantasies, the peace process must go on!

In 1943 the US went from a cold start into the unknown and in 2 years develop a functioning atomic bomb, something no one else had every accomplished.
So the Iranians with western education and stolen blueprints have been working on the bomb for 15+ years.
Therefore either Iran already has one or more bombs or they have all the parts sitting in a warehouse and only need a few days to assemble.
President Obama has achieved another one of his goals.

The issue isn't the United States does not intend to change its position regarding Iran’s development of nuclear weapons, rather what's going to be done about it. Essentially the US policy is nothing, though we'll be shocked at their first test.

What garbage from the liberal wing of Israeli political spectrum. Obama could care less about Iran getting all nuked up and probably likes the idea. Not just Obama but his lefty minions who serve him in the State Department and his administration

"Some salesman can't sell anything"

Instead of the singular, you need to used the plural, salesmen. There is a very sophisticated salesjob going on involving many people representing the various foreign policy doctrines.

The hardcore rightwing neocon hawks, led by Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, Paul Bremmer, and Bill Kristol came out early calling for the re-invasion of Iraq.

The more moderate neocons led by Robert Kagan, Dan Senor, and Max Boot are pumping out opinion pieces reminding the public of the US's intervetionist role in the world.

Liberal Interventionists like Hillary and Robert Menendez, and McDonough(mentioned above) are talking the talk.

And if you noticed from his recent public pronouncements, Big Henry Kissinger is on board

Obama's role is to play the part of the prudent, pragmatic realist who did every thing possible(bent over backwards) to work with these people using carrots and diplomacy to solve the problem, but they are irrational. And it is not just opinions in the US, its international and multilateral

Its about manufacturing consent from the public.

ISIS is just the cover story. They are ramping up for the war with Iran. Unless, of course, Iran submits to US hegemony. Which probably involves regime change. Which could be why Ayatollah Khamenei went into the hospital yesterday.

If he is a liberal he does[believe every word that comes from the mouth of Obama, ditto Obama’s henchmen/women]. They are all cut from the same bolt of cloth.

Nobody’s ramping up for war with Iran, despite how necessary that is.

Just how are Wolfowitz, Cheney, Bremmer or Kristol “right wing”?

ISIS puts us in bed with Iran, protecting their negotiations farce. Try again.

Do you want a nuclear Iran, Ben?

I use the term right wing in that they are republicans. I understand that many "true conservatives and real Americans" don't think neocons are sufficiently conservative or might be big government conservatives. And many social conservatives don't like their social issues positions.

You could also say that neocons are aligned with Likud and if Likud is the conservative party then neocons are conservative

Republicans are not right wing, that is unless a conservative leader pulls them away from the left. And so-called “neocon(servative)s” are not conservative, never mind “sufficiently”.

The phrase “big government conservative” is an oxymoron.

No it doesn't. That is just a one-sided Iranian conversation

Iran’s trying to hop in the bed. Remains to be seen if the executive branch is going to put on the burka for them.
