Honestly, I cant disagree with anything you said.

As for me, I am a staunch NO voter. I think breaking up the UK is idiocy and the like one of the English freepers, I am depressed and astounded at how such a hollow campaign as the YES one, has managed to con so many people, when the Scots usually strongly reject the nationalist cause at general elections.

If I were in Scotland, I'd have the same take. I just don't feel it is the place of those of us on this side of the pond to tell our Allies how to run things.

I enjoyed your post #78 also. There is a lot of smug ignorance over here. A few of us appreciate how dangerously close the UK and all of western civilization came to perishing from the summer of 1940 to 1941.

It was only the determination of Churchill and the will of the UK residents which held out.

God help England if she had no Scots to think for her" - George Bernard Shaw

You can tell the Scots are brighter than the English, they have a lot of devolved power over which the English M.P.'s have no control, yet Scottish M.P.'s get to vote on the same English questions.

If the English had their wits about them they would demand either that they have their own assembly/paliament of that Scottish M.P.'s at Westminster are barred from voting on questions that involve England only.
