The NFL is marketing to young women for a very simple reason: they've completely tapped out their traditional market base, so their only growth opportunities lie in casual fans -- or in fans who don't have any interest in football at all.

This is why the NFL has now completely crossed the line into the entertainment world as defined by People magazine, TMZ and "Entertainment Tonight." They don't care if women like football or not. They -- or, more accurately, their sponsors -- only care if women are interested enough in Tom Brady's wife Giselle to tune into a Super Bowl for 15 minutes.

It's not about the football anymore, dude. That's why I haven't watched an NFL game in years.
