He has not been charged or convicted of any crime.

So on what grounds are they punishing him?

There are all kinds of violent criminals with convictions playing in the NFL. What makes this creep any worse?

Although he had not been convicted, the video clearly shows the assault. The Ravens as well as the NFL isn’t required to wait until a judicial decision before taking action against one of its players.

It is a reoccurring theme: “other NFL players have committed crimes as well”. I’m sure that if all of the crimes had been recorded on video, these players would meet the same fate as Rice. It is unfortunate that the NFL as well as the teams owners and coaches care more about wins and money than they do about on and off the field conduct.

Ray Rice was indicted for assault in this case. I believe he entered a “no contest” plea and was given the opportunity to enter a pre-trial intervention program for first-time offenders.
