A day after a new video surfaced showing Ray Rice hitting his then-fiancée in the face in a hotel elevator, prompting the Baltimore Ravens to release the running back and the NFL to increase his suspension from two games to indefinite, Janay Rice defended her husband and criticized the media.
"I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I'm mourning the death of my closest friend," she wrote in an Instagram post. "But to have to accept the fact that it's reality is a nightmare itself. No one knows the pain that the media & unwanted [opinions] from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret everyday is a horrible thing.
"To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his ass off for all his life just to gain ratings is horrific. THIS IS OUR LIFE! What don't you all get. If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happiness away, you've succeeded on so many levels. Just know we will continue to grow & show the world what real love is! Ravensnation we love you!"

I do not believe that either the Ravens of the NFL will have any difficulty explaining that the player's misconduct put him in breach of contract. The NFL can always back off on its suspension: NO NFL team is going to acquire him, at any price.
Furthermore, based on player reaction, it's very doubtful that the Players Association will take up his cause in anything other than a pro forma sleepwalk through the process.
“His best hope is arbitration through the Player’s Union.”
I tend to think he’ll do the old Mea Culpa, and have himself admitted to a rehab for abusers. Then after a few weeks he’ll be miraculously healed and teams across the NFL will vie for his services. He’ll be a bigger star than Michael Sam, or Michael Vick. Oy, and Michael used to be my fav name.
The NFL has put a crimp into her spending budget and she’s mad as hell about it.
He won’t play this season, and after this season it may well be too late. He isn’t the same player he was two years ago.
Ah yes - not a word of personal responsibility or contrition - only more martyrdom: other people including the press are the real problem, we’re going to be strong even though our lives are being ruined, we’re being hurt and embarrassed by those of you wha are interested in all this - where have I heard all that before?.....
Oh, I think he’s radioactive, like Sterling. No one gonna touch him. But that ole mea culpa/rehab thingy sure works for most indiscretions. Especially for pols.
That was the sound of her meal ticket getting voided...
I wonder if Hallmark has a card for that?
LOL!
Sure....you can find in the "Get Well Soon" section...... ;-)
