Obama flat out said that the rich have more money than they need from businesses that they didn't build, but my take is that everyone's boat sinks when the tide goes out even while we hear the sound of our own boat hitting bottom the loudest.

I agree that everyone’s boat will sink under these conditions. The point I was trying to make was that our economy is going to grow even more slowly as more and more people (of all classes) will have less dollars to spend. I won't get into the debate which economic class’ spending ability is more elastic then the others. ; )
