You can do both. Feeling pity for his death not only looks like the right thing, it is the right thing to do.
Pity is not the same as remorse that he was killed. Chances are good he’d have carried on the same way until he got killed anyway, or locked up. Not many people can get out of that vile gang banger culture once they get sucked into it, and most do get sucked in rather than wanting to be in it. As you rightly said, this has probably saved a lot of people a lot of grief.

Thank You for that Johnny Cash link. I really needed a lift this morning and Johnny Cash singing about talking to the Man of Galilee was perfect. I am tired of the whiny left and their phony race war. They are bringing paid protesters (being paid by welfare systems, college tuition freebies, and free healthcare is payment.. compensation)into our towns to start something out of pure desperation. They are complaining because they are attempting to make the entire country into LA, DC, NYC, Detroit and Chicago and then complaining because they are having some success with that.

Seems to me things worked out pretty good. He won’t be doing a lot of robberies any more. My worries go out for his victims and the one who shot him.

The unconstitutional Welfare State has created the ungovernable Welfare Class ... a whole lot of citizens will have to kill a whole lot of thugs before we get this mess sorted out. The problem was created in Washington, Washington must quit doing the things that cause it.
How can you feel pity when you are cheering that the punk kid is dead? I can’t mix the two feelings together. When criminals die, I want to cheer their death not mope in sorrow.

I have the same sympathy for thugs that they do for the people they victimize. If they choose to beat up and rob people then we’re all better off without them. The youthfulness of the thugs doesn’t sway me in the slightest. The younger ones are often the most violent.
Who said anything about moping in sorrow? That’s remorse, not pity.

I agree with you - he’s better off permanently off this world, if only for the sake of the rest of us.

I kind of understand the mixed feelings. It's a shame that people are born into that world. There's no hope for the majority of them. Still, that's the reality and I would rather have him, the criminal, gone than innocent victims taken out. And it's tied with the fiscal...he's no longer a burden to society that way and in other respects, and he won't be creating any future burdens. It's a horrible way to have to look at fellow humans so I get the mix of feelings. It's just the reality. One can either be like a lot of liberals, and some conservatives, and ignore it or face the truth. It's the same with the radical Muslims. I wish the world were different.
