When you have a conscript force there are some hillbillies ex-military who can’t behave so they are a kind of annoyance on a Border Protection Day (I actually don’t remember how do they call their professional holiday but it is something like that). They aren’t a majority.
Are those the ones who take their APC’s on “tourist” excursions?
I suspect some of them might be with the rebels. But I’m yet to see APCs, allegedly taken into Ukraine with them. Footage of destroyed Soviet armor aren’t convincing, especially then you see occasional HUMVEEs among the wrecks, even if these are bearing a VDV logo.
Obama is and has been an antagonist in all this.
If only America didn’t annex a part of Ukraine.
Crimea votes to seize “Klomoisky’s” assets...payback from Putin IMO.
On Wednesday, 70 of the 100 lawmakers that make up the Crimean parliament voted to nationalize the assets of billionaire Ihor ‘Kolomoisky’ after the oligarch ruffled some Russian feathers by financing pro-Kiev fighters in eastern Ukraine. Kolomoisky will now have to watch as his assets get sold off to the highest bidder.
With a reported net worth of $1.7 billion, Kolomoisky made much of his fortune through his massive banking and industrial conglomerate Privat Group, which owns Ukraine’s largest lender, Privatbank. While Kolomoisky pulled the bank’s operations from Crimea in March, after Russia’s annexation of the peninsula, his remaining Crimea-based assets will now be nationalized and put up for public auction...... These include a chain of gas stations, a hotel complex, numerous plots of land and dozens of other facilities owned by Kolomoisky or his affiliates. Earlier this week, his Crimean assets were seized by the Investigative Committee, Russia’s FBI.

Ammnesty international has told Ukraine they need to contol this battalion who has been accused of committing war crimes against civilians......The battalion is sponsored by Ukraine’s Igor Kolomoysky. He is governor of Dnepropetrovsk region and sponsors a number of other paramilitary units.
Kolomoysky has used his men in direct deployments against eastern 'Ukraine' militia....According to Odnorozhenko, the Deputy Commander of 'Azov', the battalion's ideology is based on “natsiokratiya” – a protofascism platform popular among Ukrainian nationalists before and during WWII.....growing fears in Ukraine that Azov and other far-right militias could ultimately turn on its new rulers (poroshenko), whom they see not as representatives of the revolution but of a venal oligarchy that has dominated the country for decades.
