TMZ plans to release proof that NFL 'turned blind eye' to Rice video (Good-bye Goodell)

The Ray Rice story isn't close to being over.

Although the Baltimore Ravens released Rice and the NFL suspended him indefinitely following the release of the bombshell video of Rice striking his wife in an Atlantic City hotel elevator, TMZ claims it has more to the story, via Philly.com.

TMZ's Harvey Levin appeared on Fox5 Philly and said that he plans to release information that the NFL knew about and saw the Rice video (which the league has denied) but that it ignored it.

Why not check the video out from the beginning when RR is leaning on the pole. He SPITS on her first and she gives him a little backhand towards his mouth... He then gets on an EMPTY elevator and immediately crowds he to intimidate her... It looks to me like she pushes him away and he strikes her once... She then comes back and he knocks her out...

Having said all that, would it really matter if he was defending himself? I have an answer for that... GRAB HER and control her but don’t KNOCK her out...

Ole RAY RAY needs his a$$ beaten ...

Because TMZ probably paid some $8 an hour security guard to get them the tape and they did.
Goodell never saw this coming. He was probably given assurances that the recording was under lock and key but they all got outsmarted.

What is the origin of the bro-hug(s) at the Draft? I don’t follow the NFL closely these days but have seem images and news highlights. Something Goodell started?

Is it just me or that woman slapping Rice around before he punched her. If that is true, then it looks like a case of self defense to me.

There is no excuse for knocking her out. Never hit a woman. Especially if you are capable of knocking her out cold. If you can't walk away there are other options.

Who cares. Bet you any amount of money that Ray Rice’s wife is waaay more upset that he’s out of a job and his $25 mill contract than she is about being belted out cold. Guaranteed.

Sure she is and she was counting on Goodell to make sure Rice kept his job. He couldn't cover up anymore.

I would think most guys with a good lawyer, no record, good paying job, upright guy in the community would qualify for a pre-trial intervention after punching somebody.

He had no prior record of any kind. I don't see that he got special treatment. It appears he worked the system as it's designed to work.

Are you kidding me? It was felonious assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
Anyone else, not protected by the NFL, goes away for a minimum 6 months and 10 years probation.

So there’s no reason to expect a man to act like a gentleman? That’s sad.

What a thing to say. Is it women you don’t care for or black women you don’t care for?

You show a total lack of of humanity.

“However, an employee of the hotel told TMZ that the NFL had seen the video before suspending Rice. Peter King of Sports Illustrated wrote in July that the NFL and Ravens officials have seen video from inside the elevator when the incident took place. Jane McManus of ESPNNewYork.com tweeted on Monday that she was told the NFL saw the “same evidence the police did.”

Goodell is a liar.

I don't see that he got special treatment.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2014/08/10/ray-rice-shaneen-allen-gun-column/13862831/

"When Ray Rice beat his wife unconscious in an elevator, New Jersey Superior Court Judge Michael Donio and New Jersey District Attorney Jim McClain agreed to put him in a diversion program for 1st-time offenders to keep him out of jail. But when Pennsylvania single mom Shaneen Allen was pulled over for a traffic violation and volunteered to a New Jersey police officer that she was carrying a legally-owned handgun with a Pennsylvania permit, the response of Donis and McClain was to deny her the same opportunity as Rice.

Allen lives in Philadelphia, right across the river from New Jersey. She has a Pennsylvania permit to carry a handgun. She thought it was recognized in New Jersey, just as it is recognized in over 30 other states. She was wrong. When she told the officer that she had the gun, she was arrested.

Now she faces a felony conviction and a mandatory 42 months in prison. Both Donio and McClain have been unwilling to dismiss the charges, or send Allen to a pretrial diversion program. They seem to want to make an example of her.

The problem is, she's being punished for something the Constitution says -- and the Supreme Court has agreed -- is a constitutional right."

Rice got special treatment. In more than one way, it looks like.

To believe the NFL and the Ravens did not see this video prior to today is the same as believing in Santa Claus and the tooth fairy.

He knocked the hell out of that woman. Totally knocked her out.

...

Could she have faked being knocked out? Was she tested for a concussion?

She was his fiancée at the time and she still married the goon...

From what I heard, they got married the day after it happened.

Even today.  He was suspended indefinitely.  Which means he can return to football some time in the future.  He should have ended up in jail.
