Getting savaged in the comments section. Several people pointed out that if you intend to surrender to the invader, dousing them with wasp spray first was probably not the most prudent plan of action. Most stated that a firearm is a far better solution.

I have only this to add: a home invader is, by the very nature of his crime, a violent and dangerous criminal. Shoot him. Shoot him twice. You might as well, you're going to have to clean the gun anyway.
