Rivers described herself as a "California Republican" - fiscally conservative, socially liberal.
You can't be both....the terms are mutually exclusive.
Methinks Joan was politically very street-wise and well-informed on current events....but she was undoubted not exactly a mensa when it came to the basics of economics and national/international political reality and history.
Too bad she wasn't a well-grounded and educated freeper.
