Immigration Reform: Workers’ Voices Needed in Washington

The AFL-CIO has been calling on the White House to halt unnecessary deportations since spring 2013. Our dysfunctional and antiquated immigration system is an invitation for employer manipulation and abuse, and U.S.-born workers as well as immigrant workers are paying the price. Every day that the White House does not act, more than 1,000 people are torn from their worksites, their families and their communities, driving down wages and standards in the process.
The time to act on immigration was more than a year ago, when the Senate passed a comprehensive, bipartisan framework for real reform. House Republicans refused to do their job and put the compromise bill up for a vote, and the Obama administration has not yet used it as a blueprint for executive action. The fate of millions of workers continues to hang in the balance, and the president should use his authority to grant the broadest possible temporary relief.

OK,let me see if I have this straight,Comrade....workers who are here *legally* are supposed to support the introduction of 30 million semi literates,a fair number of whom are willing to work under the table for $4 an hour. It's easy to see how this enriches you *personally* but how does it benefit Lunch Pail Jim and Jane?

Someone explain to me why any legal worker in America would be for any reform that legalizes criminals who violated our borders and puts them in competition with them for jobs?

Watch rank and file the union bosses will be having you train your replacements.
To: mdittmar
Most union dues payers are not workers in the common sense of the term.
