Researchers reveal that the population of California Recent data gathered by researchers show that the population of California Blue Whales is now in a healthy state with an estimate number of around 2,200 residing in the eastern side of the Pacific Ocean. This past year I finally picked up "Moby Dick"...a very worthwhile read.
That means Captain Kirk’s mission was a success.
i’ve read it. The original movie with Gregory Peck was a fabulous telling of the story,
Its nice to see mankind is capable of correcting a past wrong.
I understand it was a different time and i don’t hold it against whalers from the past. Its the ones doing it today that disgust me.
5 stars for you. First saw that movie on a plane trip to the Bahamas. Kids were small. My parents along. We landed but the movie still had about 10 minutes to runs. People disembarked but we watched until the end. We were the last ones off.

“Despite the growing numbers, this creature of the sea is still facing some major threats “
Yep, Always.
Always always always.
OK, the whales have maxed out. When will they first be caught riding around in their whale-sized SUVs?
How does one determine capacity?
Whales for open borders!
Couple of weeks ago we went over to Catalina. Took the dinghy out looking for dolphins and saw 2 Finback Whales. Watched them for quite a while til they left.
Now the Ecomaniacs will say they have to be culled (in a RESPONSIBLE manner) to prevent over population.
Besides, they breathe and produce CO2.
Now serving Blue Whale Sushi
Good to see this. I hope the same happens for the Right Whales and Bowheads, which are still drastically scarce.
Well then it’s time to reintroduce whaling to manage the population! ; )
Because the manual says so on the introduction page. Do not ever question the manual!
When they die they float like a gaseous bomb waiting to pop. Ultimately they sink, but not until all the birds, sharks, etc have their fill. Then they probably sink. But by then there is not much left.
You should read some of Melville’s other short stories.
