Absolutely. In 1979 I had a cousin dying of cancer and I remember telling myself I’d get her marijuana if it got too tough for her. Of course I didn’t have a clue how to get it but fortunately we didn’t need it.

Hydrocodone never took away much of the pain, and it has NEVER been addictive for me, but now that it is in the same class as more powerful drugs, maybe the VA doc can start giving me those instead. I am injured, and will be on painkillers the rest of my life, and I would prefer to make it as uncomplicated as possible.

Good grief! How did you manage to do all that?

I herniated a cervical disc some years ago and the pain was unremitting and nothing they gave me would touch it. It finally went away with therapy alone, thanks be to God, but it took a very long time.

I suspect that it had something to do with the neck and shoulder problems I was having last winter that prompted me to retire from my glorious Postal career- figured I’d better leave it behind before I suffered permanent nerve damage- the fleeting variety was spooky enough.

But I can hardly imagine dealing with the litany of ailments that you listed in your post. I do recall your heart trouble but I wasn’t aware of all the rest.

I know, it turned out to be the yellow dye in the NORCO. I called Vintage, and they said changing the shape which made it easier to swallow and the dye with lowering the Tylenol was the only changes they made. I react to some red dyes too, those are usually food ones.

Dr solved the issue and wrote for 5 mg to take once daily as 10 mg, no issue except the short time span it works.

Since most of the pain is OA, I am going to have to see if they have any new OA drugs that work longer but do not tear up the gut. They gave up on me a decade ago with those.
