Under what? Poll: One-third of Americans want God out of Pledge
Washington Times ^ | September 4, 2014 | Meredith somers

God created the universe in six days, but it took an act of Congress to get Him into the Pledge of Allegiance.

The history of the Pledge is dotted with revisions, including the 1954 adoption of “under God.” And though Americans have said the Pledge the same way for the past 60 years, a survey from the American Humanist Association found that one-third would like “under God” removed, after being told those words were not part of the original text.

And thus the 1/3 who will always vote Democrat. In fact, the number is probably about 40%.

True. And that’s why they removed God from their convention.

Are they also wanting to remove “Year of our Lord” from the US Constitution?

Were they also told the Pledge isn't even that old, adopted by Congress in 1942, only 12 years before the insertion of God.

It's not like it goes back to the Founding.

It was written in 1892 by Francis Bellamy, a Christian, a socialist and a nationalist. Though not necessarily a national socialist.

Translation: One-third of Americans (probably) don’t want to pledge themselves to any Pledge of Allegiance ......

And this shows how easily people are being manipulated by surveys/polls.

That is why I don’t do surveys, unless they pay me for my opinions. So far no takers.

They already threw out the flag and the Republic - it was only a matter of time until the Creator got tossed too.

Certain words make liberals go mad and certainly GOD is at the top of the list along with conservative, tax cuts, talk radio, traditional marriage, pro-life, etc.

Why, suddenly, would people want to go to “original text”, when they don’t want that even for the US Constitution? The Constitution has been amended some 27 times, and one of those was a rescission of an earlier amendment, so the “original text” argument is sort of hollow.

God and the United States shall always be inseparable. If and when the United States abandons God, the United States will cease to be the United States.

Almost perfect...just needs a little tweaking on the last line to fit the rhythm:

I pledge alligence to the fags
In the divided states of America
And for the Abortion,
For which Libs stand,
Old nation
Underground
All miserable
With Sodomy and AIDs-care for all.

I'm not going to try to stop anybody from reciting the Pledge. But beware that there is arguably a Trojan Horse in the Pledge.

More specifically, not only was the Pledge authored by a socialist, but using terms like, "one Nation" and "indivisible," the Pledge is arguably pro-big federal government propaganda.

In fact, reflecting 10th Amendment-protected state sovereignty, Thomas Jefferson had noted that each state should regard itself as an individual, sovereign nation, while foreign nations should regard the states as one unified nation.

”The true theory of our Constitution is surely the wisest and best, that the States are independent as to everything within themselves, and united as to everything respecting foreign nations.” —Thomas Jefferson to Gideon Granger, 1800.

I loudly proclaim “under God” and then do not say the word “indivisible” while reciting the pledge.

When you ask a dog and his fleas to vote on whether or not to maintain their relationship, nobody wonders how that vote goes.
