The Ukrainian government and pro-Russia rebels meeting in Minsk have signed a preliminary protocol to start a ceasefire, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko says.
He said that the truce would start at 14:00 GMT. The announcement came after reports of further clashes in the east.

Thanks for posting that! Had not heard of it. In response to Obama’s visit?
For more information, please contact the Kremlin.
You should post that link as a new thread.
“By Merc militias, you mean the ones on both sides, right?”
I mean the Kolomoisky militias.
If the “ceasefire” actually stands, I expect a Maidan 2.0 in very short order, this time with guns.
IMO, The Ultra-nationalists won’t be happy.

We’re close to the line between Ukrainian and pro Russian forces as the minutes count down to a ceasefire... the guns are silent.

Second: On top of this, Putin's Russia is in the process of planning a second front to invade in the south and push towards and through Odessa. Putin MUST do this in order to establish a "land bridge" connecting Russia with Crimea because as it presently stands it is impossible for Russia to maintain its annexation of Crimea without it because it Russia's capture and hold on the entire Crimean peninsula is TOTALLY UNSUSTAINABLE without it. In other words Putin has taken Crimea but Russia will not be able to hold onto it unless they are able to resupply and provide for the multitudes of people they have imprisoned there. Russia is totally incapable of providing for all of the needs of the inhabitants of Crimea by ships or by airplanes and Putin and the Kremlin know it. It would cost BILLIONS UPON BILLIONS of Rubles to construct a bridge over the Black Sea connecting Russia to Crimea, thus avoiding Ukraine altogether... Russia can't afford it and it is totally unfeasible... Putin and the Kremlin recognize this fact as well.
Russia's only solution to this very real dilemma and threat of losing the Crimea which Russia has just stolen is to do exactly what Hitler did 70 years ago when he captured Crimea: He invaded along the southern border of Ukraine and built a land bridge connecting the Russian territory Hitler had conquered with the Crimea, which his troops had previously taken. Hitler knew he couldn't hold onto this territory unless he did this and Putin knows this as well because Putin and the Kremlin are planning on doing the exact same thing; here is the proof:
Russia ready to open second front near Odessa

Of course you did. I simply was wondering if you would take a stab at being “objective.”
Hitting Poroshenko where it hurts him personally, i.e. his wallet. He is chocolate mogul.
I'm surprised they did not boycott Heinz.
So much for Putin’s phony ceasefire agreement. The Russians are engaged for the lst hour in an offensive in Vesela Hora with Russian artillery bombarding Shchastya. Meanwhile, Putin’s Minister of Foreign Affairs is already unilaterally denouncing the ceasefire as being invalid if NATO and the Ukraine move forward with the annual joint military training exercises in the Ukraine this month.
Interesting map....
Greasy kleptocrat Putin is getting away with stealing half of a neighboring country. Sad day for civilization. Happy one for FR’s Soviet Nostalgia Sauna Club.
Why do you always bring up your random Russkie anecdotes and then never provide sources for Freepers who don't live on Russia Today or Itar-Tass?
As for the problem "last time." The problem last time was that dozens of Ukrainians, supposedly violating the ceasefire, were killed by Russkies shooting at them constantly.
You reveal your hand by posting it. Not only is it anti-NATO, it's misleading. NATO has been significantly cutting its military spending over the past 20 years. Russia has been invading countries, on the other hand, blaming its victims and NATO for why it has to do so.
Do they hate chocolate moguls on that anti-semite "Israel and the United States are the New world order!!!1!!!" website you post to?
Remember what you told me? "You're only as good as your source."
