Great topic for this thread, Fatima!

"The Kiss" -- from the soundtrack for The Last of the Mohicans -- is one of the best movie songs I've ever heard. You can add the instrumental "Theme From St. Elmo's Fire" to this list, too. And maybe the best of them all is "The Ecstasy of Gold" from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

Dusty Springfield: "The Windmills of Your Mind"

From the original "Thomas Crowne Affair". Written by Michel Legrand from the second movement of Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola in E-flat.

I always liked the theme to “Goldfinger” by Shirley Bassey.

Without question, As Time Goes By from "Casablanca." And I've always liked the themes from "A Summer Place" and "Summer of '42."

Honestly, this could be a very long list!

P.S. That Last of the Mohicans song may be listed as "The Gael" on the soundtrack CD.

Another good one was “Chariots of Fire”, also “Thunder Road” and I like the version done by Robert Mitchum which surprisingly wasn’t the one in the movie.

Percy Faith: "A Summer Place"

From 20th Century Fox, it was an attempt to influence people to abandon the Fifties sexual morality. Once you've seen the movie, the Sixties make more sense.
