No, TX considers one a “Republican” if he votes in either the primary or the runoff election every two years. That designation is good for two years. Then, if he skips the primaries the following cycle, he is “unaffiliated” for two more years, etc.

No.

You are not registered as republican or democrat. There is simply a notation as to what primary you voted in or that election cycle — and that is done so you can’t vote in any other party’s primaries. That is all. You are not a registered party member no matter what primary you voted in.

There is no party registration in Texas. . .which bring us back to the original purpose of this thread—citing Barbra as not a ‘registered’ republican in Texas is a red herring and nonsense.
