Why drink Polish vodka when you can drink Russian vodka?

Russians are betwixt and between, being part of both Europe and Asia.

However, they’re Western (if about 500 years behind the times) in their mentality and have always wanted to be considered part of the West - which was why anybody who was anybody in Russia prior to 1917 spoke French.

Russia’s big problem after the collapse of the USSR was that anyone who had money and influence had made their living or gotten their influence through crime and the black market. That was because this was the only way somebody who was not politically connected could get by.

This is why Russian areas of NYC are “Mafia Central,” because Russians brought in a lot of organized crime.

But what they’re really saying now is not that they hate the West, but that they hate Obama. I can’t think of anybody who has been worse with the Russians. They don’t respect him, they don’t like him, and they think he’s going to sell them out to Islam. Which he will.
