Russia Has Threatened Nuclear Attack, Says Ukraine Defence Minister
Newsweek ^ | September 2, 2014 | Damien Sharkov

Kiev has received threats of nuclear retaliation from Russia through unofficial channels if it continues to fight pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine, the Ukrainian Minister of Defence, Valeriy Heletey, announced on his Facebook page on Monday.

“The Russian side has threatened on several occasions across unofficial channels that, in the case of continued resistance they are ready to use a tactical nuclear weapon against us,” Heletey’s statement reads.

The minister goes on to say that Russia’s “hybrid war” in Ukraine is at an end, accusing the Kremlin of attempting a “full-scale invasion”. Heletey called for all Ukrainian forces to “consolidate” and “begin building defences against Russia,” insisting today “the operation to liberate the Eastern Ukraine against terrorism is complete”.

Heletey’s cryptic message comes after rapidly escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine over continuing reports of Russian military activity near the separatist-held regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, in eastern Ukraine.

Italian newspaper La Repubblica reported that Russian president Vladimir Putin had said in a phone call European Commission President Jose Manual Barroso he could “take Kiev in two weeks” if he wanted to.

Putin also alluded to potential nuclear conflict when he told Russian youth campers last week: "Thank God, I think no one is thinking of unleashing a large-scale conflict with Russia," he said. "I want to remind you that Russia is one of the leading nuclear powers.”(continued)

Putin’s Russia is a bully. He wants to dictate and decide what nations are legitimate and which ones must be subservient to his one-man rule in Russia.

She was right in 2008 when Putin also threatened to nuke Poland over the missile shield. In response to that, Obama canceled said missile shield a year later, leaving Poland out in the cold. (What magical properties that “reset button” has—it reset the Cold War back to starting parameters.)

So far everything you’ve mocked, regarding Russian intervention, Russian SF, Russian troops, Russian invasion has come true. Pull head out of Putins ass, and recognize him for the lying, evil bastard he is.

You are brainwashed. In fact yesterday was a good chance to deescalate, rebels said they aren’t seeking independence, Poroshenko said he is declaring peace and Putin said he is backing all of the above.
It took only a few moments for multiple players to start throwing crap on a fan in anger after all of the above has happened.
NATO is declaring Ukraine a potential member, Australia issues new Russian sanctions, France halts a carrier export, Yats declaring building a Berlin wall in Luhansk, Oligarch’s private armies continue to bomb Donetsk and all the crap like that.
Why right now?
It is clear that Poroshenko made Obama look like a fool declaring the end of hostilities right before he was to talk loudmouth in Estonia.
Nuland is starting to pull strings in retaliation.
Ukraine is a pawn in this game which is not much different than Arab Spring was.

I have actually started to believe in this ‘invasion’ until a recent wave of bullcrap from Kiev. Heletey and Ukrainian media is in no way more credible than Putin and Russian TV.

If they’re turning to nukes that means they’ve conceded conventional warfare. How is this possible given the disparity of conventional forces between Russia and Ukraine? It can only be that the Russian military does not approve of their role in the invasion and Putin wants to avoid the public embarrassment of more Russian soldiers defecting.

There is something very deeply wrong if Putin would have to use nuclear weapons to defeat a nation it kept weak since the collapse of communism and the return of the Czarist/Soviet/Putinista-Reich. Maybe the volk are not willing to kill their neighbors for Putin’s glory.
