Last week, while most of that was still going on, the president was asked at a press conference whether he would seek congressional approval to take action against the Islamic State in Syria as well as Iraq. He said yes but it would have to wait until specific plans were fully developed in light of all possible variables:

The fact that I can come up with a better plan for the D-Day invasion in 2014 than was executed in 1944 isn’t of much use.

Well said. This applies to anyone, from presidential decisions down to small business. I can count several great examples in my own experience.
They are ignoring the fact that ISIS was mentioned in presidential daily briefings for over one year. With that in mind, there is no excuse for not having a strategy.
This is just more shuck and jive.
ISIS and Terrorism are too much trouble,too much work ,too much thinking and Obama does not want to get involved
He DOES have a strategy. That strategy is to let ISIS do whatever the hell they want. And to play golf.
We can reduce the civilian casualties from US military operations by giving ISIS time to kill them all first.
Some “journalists” believe that it’s their job to make the rich and powerful feel uncomfortable (but it’s not - their job is to report truthfully, no matter the subject or person involved).
Others, such as Jim Gaines, believe that it’s their job to be apologists for Obama, no matter how wrong Obama and his actions (or lack of action, in this case) may be.
Reminds me of the MSM barrage re the Clinton scandal, i.e., everybody lies about sex.
Must understand and address root causes first.
A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week.
