OJ Simpson Converts to Islam (Mike Tyson to Help)
tvnz ^ | Thursday August 28, 2014

Posted on 09/02/2014 11:28:30 AM PDT by nickcarraway

The former American footballer and movie star has been imprisoned in Nevada since 2008 on charges of kidnapping and armed robbery in relation to an armed robbery that took place at the Palace Station hotel-and-casino in Las Vegas in which sports memorabilia was taken.

After seeing his appeal for a re-trial quashed last and being informed in July 2013 he will serve at least another four years, Simpson has embraced the religion in a bid to change his life.

A source told National Enquirer magazine: "O.J. really thought that he was going to be successful in a bid for a new trial and eventually be released from prison.

"But now he's not eligible for parole until late 2017, which has angered him."

The disgraced 67-year-old star has become interested in the religion through his friendship with former world heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson, who was imprisoned in the early 1990s and is a devout Muslim.

Simpson has been studying the Koran but failed to successfully fast during the holy month of Ramadan.

An inside said: "O.J. didn't quite make it through the entire fasting process.

"He cheated during the day, and bought snacks from the prison canteen. But he's really serious about converting to Islam. O.J. even made himself a prayer rug for his prison cell. He really likes the idea that upon converting to Islam, all of his previous sins are forgiven. O.J. has a lot to be forgiven for."

not quite.

if your good works outweigh your bad, AND allah favors you, then yoiu go to paradise.

under jihad, allah still has to favor you too. and you can’t be a coward in battle or no paradise.

*We should give both of them to ISIS as a gift.*

That's a pretty crummy gift.

I hope they don't re-gift us with them next year...

“You’re saying you never ever sin anymore??”

Oh, I see I see you ‘one line’ question every one to death.

Lets cut to the chase: What is the purpose of you gross oversimplification of the Word of God? What is it that you are doing that you want to KEEP on doing that a rational reading of simple language will PREVENT you from doing? “Go and sin no more” What do YOU think that means?

The Gospel is a simple message. Have faith in Christ as clearly written in the Gospel.

I'll answer your question, but I doubt you'll answer mine.

I am a sinner. I sin daily. I am not proud of that but that is the truth. I find that, like Paul noted, no matter how good I try to be, I mess it up somewhere.

I take Christ as His Word when He says He cleanses of our sins if we confess them to Him.

I take Christ at His Word when He promises eternal life to those who believe in Him and Him alone.

I take Christ at His Word when He says salvation is a gift from God and there is NOTHING I can do to earn it.

I take Christ at His Word when He says all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

I take Christ at His Word when He says He made us alive together in Him, having forgiven us all of our transgressions having cancelled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us and which was hostile to us having nailed it to the cross.

There is no way, no way in the world, I can ever hope to be good enough to earn my way into His Kingdom. It is only through His shed blood that I have the hope and promise of eternal life.

I do try to produce good fruit for Him as He tells us to. Sometimes the harvest is better than other times.

You think you have to do something to be saved....some good work(s). Here is a simple six question test. A pass means you have completely kept these 100% of the time without ever failing. No wiggle room...no little sins. 100% faithfulness is the only way to pass. On a pass/fail basis only, grade yourself on the following:

Honor your father and your mother

You shall not murder

You shall not commit adultery

You shall not steal

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor

You shall not covet your neighbor's house, his wife, or his male servant, his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.

It's a given that no one is perfect. However, cynically hiding behind this truth is a failure of the Heart. God KNOWS your heart, cynicism won't fly. We must not only avoid sin but we must try to BE Christ to others. Good works are essential to salvation. The warning that good works won't buy your way into Heaven is an admonition against the same sort of cynicism or over simplification your view represents.

I knew you wouldn't answer these. Because if you had it would prove that your good works, no matter how many they may be, are insufficient to gain entrance into Heaven. As Paul noted they are as filthy rags.

It is only through belief in Christ that we gain entrance into the Kindgom.

Are good works a result of believing in Christ? Yes. No doubt about it. An apple tree cannot bear anything other than apples. So as a Christian we should be producing fruit for the Kingdom.

To your charge that I cynically hide behind this is bogus.

I freely confessed I am a sinner. I am saved through the shed blood of Christ. Nothing else can cleanse me of my sins. I know any good work I do is insufficient to gain entrance into Heaven.

My prayer is that you, and everyone else who reads this, has placed their faith in Christ. Nothing else gets you into His Heaven.

“I knew you wouldn’t answer these. “

You don’t see what you don’t want to see. Good works absent BELIEF and FAITH “are as rags”. Good works done ostentatiously are no better that prayer done the same way.

What does “Go! And sin no more”! mean to YOU?

I've already answered your question. Yet you refuse to answer mine.

I've given you the Biblical test to see if you are going and sinning no longer. The self exam is also designed to show that your works, no matter how many or good you think, they are, don't pass God's test of keeping His commandments.

You refuse to answer six simple questions based on the 10 Commandments to determine if your "works" are good enough.

Why?

Because you already know the answer. You know you sin every day. Everyone does. The one who doesn't admit that is a liar and is deceiving themself.

More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ,

Paul makes it clear...anything we think is of value in what we do for Christ is rubbish...filthy rags.

Only our faith in Christ is what redeems us.

“The self exam is also designed to show that your works, no matter how many or good you think, they are, don’t pass God’s test of keeping His commandments.”

Self-serving self deception of the first magnitude.

And then you resort to name calling: “Liar”.

JESUS SAID “Go, thou, and sin no more”! JESUS said it. Not me (the “liar”) not the Rev at my Church, not the Apostles...JESUS said it! So The Saviour was just blowing gas (or lying)?

“”The self exam is also designed to show that your works, no matter how many or good you think, they are, don’t pass God’s test of keeping His commandments. “’

It is about your HEART. We ALREADY know we all FALL SHORT of the example Jesus set AND ALWAYS WILL!. To then use that as an excuse to dismiss culpability is ridiculous.

I agree Jesus told the woman to go and sin no more. That is our goal....to be more like Him.

But He also knows that we will sin. We cannot be perfect. There's only one Person who's ever done that. (which by default, excludes Mary who was a sinner as well.) Paul writes about it. John writes about it.

The question is are we practicing sin. If we do we are not of God.

The question I'm asking you is do you still sin? To which you will not answer for some strange reason. I gave you a simple test to measure if you still sin. It's a simple question.

If you can't/won't answer then I done with this conversation.

I did answer, more than once, but you are so hell bent on you ridiculous, self-serving “test” that you don't see the forest for the trees. You are justifying something with your “logic” and this need precludes your ever seeing the truth. You think you have cleverly penetrated to an answer that somehow the Ages have missed. “Go thou, and sin no more” from the mouth of the Savior blows your theology out of consideration but you don't see it because you don't want to. You are saved by your Heart NOT some voodoo incantation or by being preternaturally pure. This is what is taught but it threatens you and therin lies the question ...WHY?
