Wrapped in a Ukrainian flag, Irina Dovgan is forced to stand at a Donetsk intersection with a sign identifying her as a spy and reading: "She kills our children."

A woman berates and then kicks Dovgan as a man holding a rifle looks on.

Images of the scene that unfolded in eastern Ukraine in August sparked outrage and concern for the initially unidentified woman. Dovgan's name was eventually revealed and her story told, including to RFE/RL's Russian Service in an exclusive interview.

Kind of reminds me of the propaganda that they had going to get us involved in Kosovo. It seemed every day there would be some story of Albanian (Muslim) women being raped by those evil Serbs. The defining moment was when they published some “concentration camp” photos that turned out to be totally false but by the time the truth came out it was all over. I expect to hear about mass killings and rape soon as the propaganda cranks up.

Ms Dovgan is a gently spoken 52-year-old resident of Yasynuvata - a town just outside Donetsk. Before the war she ran a beauty salon.

When the conflict started, she decided to help the Ukrainian army...

Not he best choice you could make. Most of what I read indicates that the Ukrainian govt. and military are collapsing.

You are a despicable liar when you deny the existence of the Bosnian Serb concentration camps or death camps used to commit genocide as evidenced by:

(1) According to the 1991 census, Opstina (administrative district) Prijedor had a total population of 112,470 people, of whom 44 percent were Muslims, 42.5 percent Serbs, 5.6 percent Croats, 5.7 percent “Yugoslavs,” and 2.2 percent others (Ukrainians, Russians, and Italians). In April 1992, the total population was approximately 120,000 people, augmented, inter alia, by an influx of people who had fled the destruction of their villages in the west of Opstina Prijedor. United Nations, Final Report of the United Nations Commission of Experts, established pursuant to Security Council resolution 780, (New York: United Nations, 1992), S/1994674/Add.2 (Vol.), December 28, 1994, Annex V, Part 2, Section II, Subsection B.

(2) The U.N. Commission of Experts and many journalists and witnesses have reported extensively on the rape of women by Bosnian Serb forces. The commission, which conducted a special investigation of rape during the war, concluded: “Rape is prevalent in the camps. . .Captors have killed women who resisted being raped, often in front of other prisoners. Rapes were also committed in the presence of other prisoners. Women are frequently selected at random during the night. These rapes are done in a way that instills terror in the women prisoner population. The commission has information indicating that girls as young as seven years old and women as old as sixty-five have been raped while in captivity.. .Mothers of young children are often raped in front of their children and are threatened with the death of their children if they do not submit to being raped. Sometimes young women are separated from older women and taken to separate camps where they are raped several times a day, for many days, often by more than one man. Many of these women disappear, or after they have been raped and brutalized to the point where they are traumatized, they are returned to the camps and are replaced by other young women. There have also been instances of sexual abuse of men as well as castration and mutilation of male sexual organs. Final Report of the United Nations Commission of Experts, Annex V, Part 2, Section IV.

(3) As of June 23, 1993, according to the United Nations Commission of Experts, which conducted an extensive review of war crimes committed in Prijedor municipality, the total number of killed and deported persons was 52,811 (including limited numbers of refugees and people missing). Camps located in or around Prijedor included Omarska, Manjaca, Keraterm, and Trnopolje. See Final Report of the United Nations Commission of Experts, for a detailed description of events around Prijedor in 1992 and throughout the war.

(4) Final Report of the United Nations Commission of Experts, Annex V, Part 2, Section IV.

(5) Ed Vulliamy of The Guardian and Roy Gutman of Newsday were among the first to uncover and gain access to the concentration camps in the Prijedor area in 1992. Vulliamy accompanied non-Serbs as they were being “ethnically cleansed” from the territory, posing as a deaf mute. The two conducted extensive interviews over many months with Bosnian Serb officials, representatives of international organizations including the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and with survivors of the camps. Roy Gutman was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his work, and Vulliamy has also been honored. Both Gutman’s and Vulliamy’s findings have been utilized in war crimes investigations by the ICTY.

(7) Final Report of the U.N. Commission of Experts, Annex V, Part 2, Section IX, Subsection D.

(8) Ibid.

(9) The ICRC’s plans to evacuate all non-Serb residents of the town was abandoned after Karadzic refused to grant safe passage for convoys out.

(10) A person who in 1994 left Prijedor told Human Rights Watch/Helsinki that “I hid for two years. People were being killed on the road and I wouldn’t have been caught dead walking outside. I stayed in my house from the day I was released from the Keraterm concentration camp on August 13, 1992 until I came here [to Bosnian government-controlled territory] on Saturday [September 17, 1994]. See Human Rights Watch/Helsinki report, “Bosnia-Hercegovina: “Ethnic Cleansing” Continues in Northern Bosnia,”A Human Rights Watch Short Report, vol. 6, no. 16, November 1994. Numerous similar stories have been related to Human Rights Watch/Helsinki representatives.

(11) Ibid.

(12) Ibid.

(13) The information on the expulsion of non-Serbs from Prijedor comes in part from a report of a human rights fact-finding mission which included staff from UNPF-HQ, United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR), and the U.N. Center for Human Rights. The report is titled “Human Rights Abuses in Northwestern Bosnia: Report on Forced Expulsions from 5-12 October 1995.” For a detailed description of how the forced expulsions were conducted, see Human Rights Watch/Helsinki’s report titled “Northwestern Bosnia: Human Rights Abuses during a Cease-Fire and Peace Negotiations,” Vol. 8, No. 1 (D), February 1996.

Nayirah (testimony) The Nayirah testimony was a fake testimony given before the non-governmental Congressional Human Rights Caucus on October 10, 1990 by a woman who provided only her first name, Nayirah. The testimony was widely publicized, and was cited numerous times by United States senators and the American president in their rationale to back Kuwait in the Gulf War. In 1992, it was revealed that Nayirah's last name was al-Ṣabaḥ (Arabic: نيره الصباح‎) and that she was the daughter of Saud Al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti ambassador to the United States. Furthermore, it was revealed that her testimony was organized as part of the Citizens for a Free Kuwait public relations campaign which was run by Hill & Knowlton for the Kuwaiti government. Following this, al-Sabah's testimony has come to be regarded as a classic example of modern atrocity propaganda. In her emotional testimony, Nayirah stated that after the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait she had witnessed Iraqi soldiers take babies out of incubators in a Kuwaiti hospital, take the incubators, and leave the babies to die. Her story was initially corroborated by Amnesty International[3] and testimony from evacuees. Following the liberation of Kuwait, reporters were given access to the country. An ABC report found that "patients, including premature babies, did die, when many of Kuwait's nurses and doctors...fled" but Iraqi troops "almost certainly had not stolen hospital incubators and left hundreds of Kuwaiti babies to die." EFFECT. Nayirah's testimony was widely publicized.[48] Hill & Knowlton, which had filmed the hearing, sent out a video news release to Medialink, a firm which served about 700 television stations in the United States.[49] That night, portions of the testimony aired on ABC's Nightline and NBC Nightly News reaching an estimated audience between 35 and 53 million Americans.[47][49] Seven senators cited Nayirah's testimony in their speeches backing the use of force.[Note 1] President George Bush repeated the story at least ten times in the following weeks.[52] Her account of the atrocities helped to stir American opinion in favor of participation in the Gulf War.

You cannot justify the Bosnian Serb, Serb, or the Russian perpetrated genocides of tens of millions of human lives by citing the controversial events in Kuwait, and your attempt to do so in this context qualifies you as beneath contempt.

“You are a despicable liar when you deny the existence of the Bosnian Serb concentration camps or death camps used to commit genocide as evidenced by:” followed by a bunch of UN reports

Man you’re out there in space somewhere that’s for sure. You can google it if you want but the incident that I’m talking about is a well known thing, so no I am not lying about it. However, just the fact that you place so much trust in the UN raises a red flag to me. Sad that people like you are so easily manipulated by propaganda that even when its pointed out to you it still does no good. Keep on believing the lies out of the UN and the MSM if you want but I see no truth on either side of any of these things as the first thing to go in any war is the truth.

How dare a Ukrainian in Ukraine support her country. The nerve.

The Ukrainian government and military were doing just fine, were winning slowly when Putin dropped the Maskirovka and invaded with Openly Russian forces. Couldn’t let his sock puppets lose.

Organized rape is something muslims often do. The also lie a lot about conflicts, see Hamas. We were on the wrong side in the Balkans, not that it has anything to do with this thread.

You call things that caused a Gulf War ‘controvercial events’? LOL.
And as for Bosnian events I know many Serbs and many Muslims. There are people among Serbs whom I can trust but none like that among Muslims.
I might be not impartial but that is how it is.
When Muslims are pushing stories about Christians acting Muslim on them I won’t buy it.

The issue was concentration camp lies perpetuated by Albanians during Kosovo conflict 1998-99. It has nothing to do with Bosnia almost a decade earlier. I will not go into details about Soros-funded lies funneled to ICTY and Soros-funded lies littering MSM of the era.

It is worth noting that Daniel Pearl was murdered for debunking the lie about Kosovo "genocide".

And you are here to spit this drivel all over again.

In the light of disinformation you spread about Ukraine, it makes me wonder what connection you might have to Soros disinformation network.

Beneath contempt is what you do.

You have even surpassed sick imagination of moozeslimes.

In the war in Bosnia 1992-95, a total of 102,000 people died on all four sides of the conflict (two Muslim, Serb, Croats), including military, paramilitary and civilians. The losses among ethnic groups were proportional to their population percentage. The claim of dead Muslims was augmented tenfold (from 200,000- 500,000) for propaganda purposes. You are increasing it to tens of millions.

Your hatred of Russians and Serbs is only matched by your stupidity.

So, now you reveal yourself as yet another pro-Russian who denies the straightforward fact that Russians murdered some ten million Ukrainians in the Holodomor genocide of 1932-1933, tens of millions more Russians, other Slavs, Poles, Tatars, and so many other people. You are even so disreputable and dishonorable as to deny the Russians surpassed Hitler’s German and other Fascists in committing genocide, and the Russians are surpassed in murdering tens of millions of people by Mao’s murderous Chinese Communists.

I am not denying that Holodomor happened, nor I deny that 8 million died of starvation. It happenned during communist terror years in Soviet Union, when Russians as an ethic group were targeted and had almost no political say until 1941. Look up who was calling the shots in Politburo. The man most responsible for Holodomor was Lazer Kaganovich.

It does not constitute "tens of millions" you invent.

Here are more tall stories about Genocide in Kosovo:

https://www.google.ca/?gfe_rd=cr&ei=zvcFVMGNAamC8QfH5ID4Cw&gws_rd=ssl#q=rajmonda+CBC

In 1999, such stories were catering to gullible and the racists. Like this story about 52 old draped in blue-yellow flag. After the war, the truth came out. The truth about what is happening in Ukraine will come out as well. Who hired snipers, who shot down MH17, who murdered thousand of civilians, who sent 12000 conscripts from the West Ukraine to die aimlessly in the East, who organized private armies, who hoped to snatch shale deposits, all of it will come out. The problem is, no one will care, like no one care about the truth what really happened in Bosnia and Kosovo.

I found kind of unusual that you spill the lies about Bosnia, Kosovo and Ukraine in one breath and I wondered what might be the connection?

Could it be the fact that Bosnian Muslims, Albanians and Western Ukrainians are brothers in arms in their allegiance to Hitler, as Waffen SS Galicia, Waffen SS Handshar and Waffen SS Skenderbey show. Brothers in arms with penchant to Goebbels propaganda.

Or the fact that during Bosnian civil war Ukrainian forces in UN smuggled weapons for the Muslim side? Some of 102,000 deaths could be attributed to weapons Ukrainians provided.

Or simply thinking that Freepers are not knowledgeable about the subject and you can pass it as fact?

You are using the strawman argument to lie about what I did and did not say. When I referred to the tens of millions of people killed by the Russians in the genocides, I was including the tens of millions of people killed by the Russians during the existence of the Soviet Union. You cannot explain away the major role played by the Russian people in these multiple genocides by pointing the finger of blame to the other ethnic groups who also participated in these genocides as minor or major actors. Frankly, your denials of the concentration camps and death camps operated by the Bosnia Serbs, Serbs, and other Slavs with the military protection of the Russians is criminal.

We work with a mission organization in Kiev. They are ministering to many Ukrainians who have fled the Russian advance. They have been through horrible things.(Physical harm, hospitalization, hunger.) Please don’t make fun of people or assume these are lies if you haven’t been there.

Stalin was a Georgian.

Read Holodomor genocode overview to learn how Ukraininan communists took part in mass murder by starvation of their own kin.

This is chilling read because it shows the evil of Communism .Ukrainian Communists were fully involved in mass murder. they did not care because the only thing that mattered to them was Communist party.

Communist party was not a Russian party. Blaming Russians as an ethnic group as instigators and perpetrators is an attempt to erase responsibility from the Communists.
