USS Germantown, Sasebo 'in a much better place' after leadership changes

Faced with rampant reports of sexual harassment and mistrust of the chain of command on the USS Germantown, Navy leaders turned to Cmdr. Jason Leach for help.

Sailors applauded when Rear Adm. Hugh Wetherald, commander of the Amphibious Force Seventh Fleet, gave Leach command of the Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship in May 2013, after the departure of the previous captain, Cmdr. Carol McKenzie, who could be so harsh that her behavior bordered on verbal abuse, according to a half-dozen sailors who served with both skippers.

It turns out, he was the wrong man for the job, according to the man who gave him the helm.

But his command would be short-lived.

What a mess! This is a clear result of the libs' epically failed attempt at social engineering within the U.S. military.

I had a hostile boss (only one in all my years). I didn’t outlast her but looking at LinkedIn, she’s been sacked too.

It also seems like MacKenzie was another Holly Graf.

What a Charlie Foxtrot.

I actually, to my regret, read that linked article. What a cesspool the US Navy has become. I remember watching some PBS thing called “Carrier” about life aboard a modern carrier. (Having previously served on a few, I was interested.)

I was appalled. I couldn’t believe that was what it had turned into. What a bunch of sniveling, whiny jackasses.

I had people say to me “Don’t pay it much attention, it is PBS and they portrayed it that way for dramatic effect...” or some such thing.

Reading the linked article to this story reinforced in me how right I perceived that, and how wrong those people were.

Shameful. But this is what the Left wants. To them, the military should be abolished, and they get to have fun playing at being social engineers. For them, it is a two-fer.

If they destroy or weaken the military in the process, and at the same time sow dissension between the sexes and the races, even better.

I had a screamer manager when I worked for GE. The other techs hated him, the craft employees hated him, the customer did not trust in anything the lying POS said... He finally was transferring out and the day shift techs were explictly told not to tell nightshift about this. Around that time he brought me into his office to blindside me with some administrative disiplinary BS as I was too busy trying to cover his ass every night making production quotas... I reacted as I should have. Told him I had no trust or respect for him as a manager and served my 2 week notice.

Turns out he didn't last long after he transferred to factory production... and managed to get himself fired from the company after being with them in one form or anyor for 20something years.

Yeah. This guy was offered up as a sacrificial lamb because he was 'too nice', and 'turned things around but didn't do it fast enough'.

Politics. What a load.
