Thank you for sharing about the Benedictine Sisters of Erie, IIRC this was home for Sr. Joan Chittister, years ago I attended her workshop on the Rule of Benedict, she was excellent, and I enjoyed her books/tapes on the Psalms, but IIRC she was silenced (?) at some point, and I’ve lost track of her, I guess I’m wondering if she contributed to the situation you describe in Erie...

Sr.Joan Chittister is a true paradox. She was, and still is, very much in the feminist, gender-agenda, rebel-girl leadership. However I remember reading her book on the Rule and I was surprised to find it quite orthodox, well within the 1500 year Benedictine traditikon.

I owe her a grat deal because she was very kind to me, personally. But at the time I'm referencing 70's and early 80's) she ruined the Benedictine prayer life by neutering all the pronouns ("The Great Pronoun Reformation")--- couldn't even say "Our Father."
