"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

Unfortunately, the Stupid Party is more likely to listen to Rove than Senator Cruz, which is why they deserve to lose.

Unfortunately, that means Dhimmicraps win.

Good stuff. I would vote for him before any other republican I can think of right now.

My other favorite Republican is Jeff Sessions but I don’t believe he would run.

The comments are interesting. Someone points out how a Pew poll found that the majority of young voters agreed with Cruz, but who would never vote Republican because they buy into the stereotype that Republicans are anti-woman and only care about the rich.

And that's only with one small group of voters leaning left!! Folks in the middle and on the right know that voting Republican is a total crap shoot because half the time at least, you're voting for somebody who embraces about 90 percent of the opposition's approach to government.

The Republican party has become the party for stupid people willing to vote for the antithesis of what they want, and then getting angry when, the few times their candidates win, they proceed to enact opposition's policies.

I hope Cruz or someone of his mindset (I don't think Perry has it) gets the GOP presidential nomination in 2016 or runs "Independent" if not. If a RINO gets the official GOP nomination via gamed primaries, which as far as I'm concerned is about 99.99 percent likely, smarter and smarter Americans are going to give that candidate and the GOP the proverbial bird -- and rightly!

Romney, McCain, and RINOs prove that the GOP isn't the problem -- the problem is limiting the venue to the GOP for Cruz-like candidates.
