That might only be true if you believe that the 2014 Senate election cycle will be 50-50 with McConnell as the winning vote.
I don't think that's the case this year. I think we have seats to give.
The Senate is currently 55-45 Democrat. Republicans need six seats.
Likely Republican pick-ups:
Strong contenders if McConnell manages the message right (he's not). We need three.
Given McConnell's weakness in the face of Democrat pressure, the answer is that he will do nothing.
We need to win three of the bottom listed seats and oust McConnell from the Senate, if we really want to see conservative change have a chance.
