The G3 and 33 models are more the lost cousins of the 44.The G36 is it’s own design.Maybe a free floating light weight barrel isn’t the way to go.The barrel attaches to the receiver with a single large nut,the barrel is otherwise unsupported.As the barrel heats it may warp,and it wouldn’t have to warp much to take the shots off target.
I wonder if these G36s were built in anticipation of export orders that never materialized?
