BRUSSELS, Belgium - Amid significant gains being made by pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine and denies by Russia of a military intervention in the country, the European Union has issued a one week ultimatum for Moscow to remove its alleged forces from the country.

European Council President Herman Van Rompuy said that Russia had a week to withdraw its soldiers from eastern Ukraine or face further severe sanctions, while Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said his country was "close to a point of no return - full scale-war" with Russia.

The Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite went one step further, calling Russia's alleged invasion of eastern Ukraine a declaration of war with Europe. Calling Russia's support for pro-Russian separatists in the country "practically in a war against Europe", she said the EU needed to send military support to Kiev.

"We need to support Ukraine, and send military materials to help Ukraine defend itself. Today Ukraine is fighting a war on behalf of all Europe," said Grybauskaite.

...French President Francois Hollande called for urgent action to be taken by the EU to avoid all-out war with Russia. "Are we going to let the situation worsen, until it leads to war? Because that's the risk today. There is no time to waste," he said at a summit in Brussels....

WWIII brewing? At a glance across the globe, radical ISIL muzzie-hood committing genocide...the world sits idle. Syria, Libya, Iraq, Egypt all experiencing civil war and unrest. Israel having to deal with psychopathic A-rabs firing missiles into their territory. The U.S. at the crossroads in her national identity. Southern border wide open for all our enemies to exploit and exploit they will. The ol forgotten nuclear aspirations of Persia. Sooner or later, they will announce their plans to join the nuclear club...holding the rest of the world hostage. North Korean leader Kim Un-whatever will commit national suicide by starting a war when he feels his position of power is coming to a close. Ah, then there's Pakistan. Nuclear Pakistan...you know, our friends . Continued unrest in this country places it's arsenal at risk of falling to radical muzzie-hood. Ruskie's on the march in Europe/Arctic and the Chi-coms making their move to dominate the East/South China sea. I dunno folks. Fasten your seatbelts, it's gonna be a bumpy night.

And that’s how it should be - if Russia doesn’t want to behave like a civilized country, it won’t be allowed to be part of the civilized world.

Putin could care less. His grand strategy is to restore Russian power, influence, and hegemony. If you’re Putin, you’ve got to be saying to yourself “the time is now”. The U.S. has a weak leader who wishes to dimish its power and see the country recede from an active role in the world. That is just an indisputable fact. So right now, at the present time at least, Russia has a relatively good hand and a weak opponent.

I’m not defending Putin, just being realistic about the strength of his position and acknowledging the reality of his true objectives. The Russians are not fools; unlike the hapless Obama, they’re good chess players who have thought through multiple scenarios. They’re ready for the game and they’re not the JV team.

Obama is not just hurting power & prestige...oh no, it's far worse than that.

He is endangering the physical well-being of the nation and opening up America (and ALL her allies) to tyranny, warfare, murder and mayhem.

His pretend leadership is a physical danger and the threats are becoming “World War” like.

He has failed in his sworn promise upon becoming the President to protect, preserve and defend the Constitution and the Republic.

Unfortunately, soon we will probably see the threats becoming VERY real to the US as the Isolationist-Appeasement President slowly and reluctantly pulls his head out of his, er...out of the sand. It may be too late already for the West.

We are losing our grip in the world. No doubt about it. And our adversaries obviously sense great weakness. That puts us in a very dangerous place.

I wonder how many rounds of golf Obama is managing to squeeze in this weekend?

>>We’ll be lucky if its only bumpy.<<

Right! Every American needs to prepare their families for rough times ahead.

We have always felt somewhat immune to global chaos and or war on our soil. This is a different day in time.

Enemies once quarantined on another continent are not so much any longer. Enemies around the world see a weak, pathetic pantie waste occupying the oval office.

Imagine what the Russians were thinking when Obozo quietly leaned over and whispered to the Russian President, “wait till after the election, I will have more...”.

They then pulled back as hard as they could...and set the hook in this sissy dumb@$$es mouth. Got’cha!! The Russians knew they had him hook, line and sinker.

Putin being an ex-intelligence operative knows Hussein the muzzie is easily manipulated and is willing to betray the country. Notice I didn't say HIS country?

Man oh man, I thought Carter was bad till Clinton outright embarrassed our nation, but this guy up there now takes the cupcake.

Once all of that is done, and Russia has nothing more to lose, will they not simply go and finish taking the rest of Eastern Ukraine? Their economy would be devastated, they would be an international pariah, so why not finish what they started in the Ukraine?

Additionally, I am sure sanctions and international distancing have done much to make the likes of Iran and North Korea behave, right? Worked wonders for those countries, thus I am sure the same magic will work for Russia. /sarc

Or threatening to put local hoodlums in jail (a sanction on their freedom). Quite successful in stopping crime, right?

So far all that these sanctions have done is bump up Putin's approval ratings in Russia, and done nothing to stop his nefarious intent for Ukraine. If the Russians are going to lose anyway, why not get a chunk of land in the process?

Well, what is needed is for strong leadership by the US and Europe. With that, even sanctions can work when there's veritable leadership. Unfortunately the US falls short on that, and Europe is dithering (with the Germans appearing to be under Russia's thumb). This enables Putin to continue his monstrous acts, and the only response from the West are sanctions that will either not have enough effect, or may have such an effect that it will make no sense.for Russia not to finish their ugly play.

Since Russia has assured everyone that their army etc. is not in Ukraine, has could they possibly complain if those guns, tanks and convoys were removed with a few air strikes?

.

A = B = C.

Nobody in Kenya gives a damn about Europe or the U.S. ... with the exception of "free money".

Obama is from Kenya.

That explains everything.

Agree. Obama’s accomplishments are:
— Saddling the country with a socialist healthcare system
— Failing to enforce our immigration laws; even worse, encouraging illegal immigration
— Gutting the military
— Setting the Middle East ablaze while kowtowing to our enemies (Iran, Hamas) and stabbing our allies in the back (Israel)
— Losing Iraq and probably Afghanistan
— Doubling the National debt
— Shredding the Constitution by Executive order

But, wait, he killed Osama, right? Yeah, because it would get him re-elected.

Yeah. They are shyt holes. Without sanctions, Iran would dominate the whole gulf area.

Yeah...y’know it wouldn’t surprise me if Osama has been “relocated” to some cozy Pacific Atoll somewhere. Of course, such information would only come out AFTER Obama leaves office.

I have also predicted many times that Obama will write a post Presidential autobiography where he comes out as a Muslim.

Got duct tape?

This is a big job. I think it calls for duct tape, bailing wire, Fix-It-All and JB-Weld at least.
