Too bad the Polish aren't members of the nuclear club. I know that the Ukrainians wish they were.

Ukraine, indeed, was a member of the nuclear club. That's what the Budapest Accord was all about. Ukraine agreed to give up its nuclear weapons -- leftovers from the collapse of the Soviet Union -- in return for security assurances from the Russian Federation, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Goes to show how much faith one should place in the international pledges of the Russian Federation, doesn't it? Not to mention those of the United States...

The lesson learned is if you don't want to be invaded, you have to have a Nuclear Arsenal. A lesson the Iranians already know.
