Neurosurgeon Ben Carson is continuing to hint that he will run for president in 2016, though pledges that if elected he wont become a politician in the traditional sense.
I will tell you that Im not a politician, and I dont believe in political correctness, Carson told the crowd Friday at a political summit in Texas. So I may say something that will offend someone. And I frankly never plan on becoming a politician. It doesnt mean that I wont do something in public office, but I wont be a politician in the process.
Carson made the comments Friday afternoon in Dallas at Americans for Prosperitys Defending the American Dream Summit.

that really wasn’t my point.
I got your point and thanks for being in the mix!
Why isn’t he “presidential material? Because he’s not a politician? That to me is one of his strengths. He’s for America the way we grew up with it, not this politically correct jungle we’re in now.
Please run Dr. Carson.
Check out his comments on guns first. I like the guy OK but he’s not the one for President. Let him run for Congress or Senate first.
I don’t believe the office of President is the first political job one should hold, no matter who you are.
I think Carson is mostly conservative, but given some of his statements I’m led to believe he could too easily be swayed to a “consensus” opinion. He doesn’t strike me as nearly tough enough for the job of President.
That said, I could see him in the House. And I’d REALLY love to see him in the Maryland State House, God knows we could use SOME sort of conservative representation there!
You aren't going to get Wyoming style laws in Baltimore anyway. Dr. Carson has also made it clear he won't impose Baltimore style gun laws on Wyoming. He clearly understands and respects the concept of federalism as defined by the founders.
Carson is just not ready for the Presidency. He is a good voice for conservatism and like I said he needs to run for Congress or the Senate and figure out what he really believes.
