To be honest, I’ve never cared for neither of these two shows
Ive never had any use for MTV and couldnt understand what my daughter got out of it when she was younger. I remember enjoying watching musicals or variety shows when I was younger
Early MTV was alright...when it was still “Music Television.” It came out with a handful of “V-Js” when I was in High School. In a few years it ran through some classic performers along with some unknown, quirkie acts. It was a great way to find something new that might not get radio time but they aired since they were brave enough to make a video.
Unfortunately, MTV became fixated on Michael Jackson and Prince.
I hadn’t watched it from about 1985 through about 1990. I had enlisted in the Air Force and served overseas. When I returned to the CONUS it seemed MTV had little more than crappy reality shows.
Thanks for the laugh. When my kids wanted something I didn’t agree with and they asked why not, I always replied that I was an asshole. They never argued that point.
