...the legal processes under that statute are too slow and weak to deter employers from telling workers, “I don’t want to deal with a union and if I find you agitating for one, you’ll be fired.”

Go ahead and strengthen them - then I'll say “I don’t want to deal with a union and if I find you agitating for one, I'll move your job to China.”

Make that illegal, and I'll say “I don’t want to deal with a union and if I find you agitating for one, I'll close the company and lay you off.”

American companies are already doing these things, so ultimately, this is a game the Left cannot win.
