White House preps legal case for immigration steps

With impeachment threats and potential lawsuits looming, President Barack Obama knows whatever executive actions he takes on immigration will face intense opposition. So as a self-imposed, end-of-summer deadline to act approaches, Obama’s lawyers are carefully crafting a legal rationale they believe will withstand scrutiny and survive any court challenges, administration officials say.

The argument goes something like this: Beyond failing to fix broken immigration laws, Congress hasn’t even provided the government with enough resources to fully enforce the laws already on the books. With roughly 11.5 million immigrants in the U.S. illegally—far more than the government could reasonably deport—the White House believes it has wide latitude to prioritize which of those individuals should be sent home.

But Republicans, too, are exploring their legal options for stopping Obama from what they’ve deemed egregious presidential overreaching. …

Funny how they call lies “reasoning” and “rationale”.

And who has been talking up “impeachment threats”—who made them? I don’t recall.

Yup, them exactly. Trying to manufacture crises again; governing by crisis.

There is no rationale or reasoning to make any of this even remotely legitimate.

Well, they can't govern in the field of ideas, so they govern by other evil communist ideas.

So the rational is that after Ob@stard has lured and let in millions of illegals that there are now too many to deport so he has to let them stay.

Remember:
IKE was able to deport FOUR MILLION wetbacks in “Operation Wetback” back in the ‘50’s.

And.....we can’t do it today? Like we’re unable?

UNWILLING I calls it.

The “I can do it cause Congress won’t write me a blank check” defense?

If the courts buy that one this country is doomed.

Congress not acting on a piece of legislation it doesn’t like doesn’t give Obama the power to pass it on his own.

If this is not a travesty of the constitution and an impeachable offence nothing is.

I don’t know what is in the WH lawyer’s Kool Aid but there is no rationale at least legally for the executive branch to make immigration law. That is what Obama is trying to do. I think he will try to do it and if the Congress does not stop him then the ballgame is over. Let the conflict resolution commence.

*******

"Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely."

1. Obama: When I think of that saying, I can't help thinking of Obama.

2. Absolute power: Obviously, Obama, under the laws of the Constitution, does not have "absolute" power.

3. But Obama acts as if he was given such absolute power unofficially "to do the right thing" when he was elected to not one but to two terms by voters who in their hearts believed sweet-talking Obama could do no wrong. Sad. Sad.

4, NOTE: Obama likes to use the phrase "Because it was the right thing to do" when he tries to explain why he decided to do this or do that concerning a controversial subject. He says it as if he was inspired from heaven to make his decision. What he REALLY wants to say is this: "God told me it was the right thing to do." Come to think about it, Obama may really want to say this:"Allah told me it was the right thing to do."

5. Obama will probably make that statement over and over ---"Because it was the right thing to do"---when he tries to justify his upcoming executive order in a few days legalizing 5,000,000+ illegal aliens.
