Thanks for pointing out this simple fact. We see so much defeatism expressed in these discussions and such a misunderstanding of the powers possessed by the various sectors of our government that it is refreshing to see a simple truth stated.

Who knows, but the problem we have in dealing with liars, is that we never know when they are telling the truth, or if they ever do. If someone in the government tells me the sun is shining, I am going outside to verify it. I just automatically assume everything the government tells me is a lie, until I can check it out for myself. Am I cynical of the government or what?

He is not an attorney, in fact, he has rather a blue collar background. For which I do not criticize nor fault him but he is a TERRIBLE questioner. Litigation-level questioning is a high-level skill and VERY few attorneys actually have it. Gowdy has it. The trouble with Issa pretending to be a lawyer is that he unfailingly produces bifurcation-—forks in the road—that lead to equivocal outcomes. This is one major reason why nothing has happened. It is because Issa is caught up in his own ego. He is not smart enough to know that he is being outsmarted by the other side in order to specifically produce this bifurcation. Let there be no doubt, the other side has $1K/hour attorneys. That we are undoubtedly paying for, by the way.

I disagree. If Issa wanted the truth he would have had it long ago. Kabuki theater is the answer. When the GOPe sees what the Klown is getting away with they don’t get angry they are jealous. So they proceed to harrumph and guffaw and point “the bony finger of indignation” to get us to the polls so they can run the scams . Then the Brownshirt Media can become anti-government. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. ad nauseum.

What has been done about Fast and the Furious, Benghazi, Cliven Bundy, targeting journalists and their phone records, Dep of Ag paying black "farmers" that didn't farm or face discrimination, or were already paid, Sloyndra, ACORN and voter fraud, protecting black panthers intimidating voters in Philly, the Veterans Affairs fiasco, the General Services Administration scandals, and of course the IRS targeting political enemies............?
Nothing has been done other than Issa and GOPe et al kabuki theater, but at least you know.
Much of what you cite isn’t illegal. Corrupt yes..illegal know. What exactly do you want Issa to do?
F and F is in the courts where it should be. Benghazi is about to have a year long examination under Gowdy, the IRS case is before a judge. issa’s job is to make the public aware of facts and he’s done this well. His job is not that of prosecutor.
