The day after Mitt Romney opened the door to another possible presidential run, a new poll shows he has a huge lead among likely 2016 Iowa Republican caucus voters.

According to a USA Today/Suffolk University poll released Wednesday, 35 percent of likely GOP caucus voters would vote for the 2012 GOP nominee in 2016. When Romney’s name was added to the pool, no other candidate received double-digit votes.

B. Obama better than M. Romney? Total nonsense. Obama even makes J. Carter look good, something I didn't think was possible a few years ago. Don't you see what Obama and his enforcer Eric Holder are doing to this country? Or perhaps you secretly agree with his agenda?

Or are you just trying to stir up arguments? I have friends like that. They sprout utter nonsense or make highly inflammatory comments, and just love to have people react to it.

Your way isn’t working. Here’s proof.

Dole
McCain
Romney.

Time to try something different.

And BTW, it was the moderates and independents that did not show up
at the polls. You know, the groups that Romney courted and counted on.

Well I helped gather signatures to get the Constitutional Party on the ballot in IL. If we can do it here.

...the only way to oppose Obama ...

... is to vote to empower an agent of most of the same stuff we object to in Obama? How has that been working?

Oh, I forgot. You vote according to what the other guy is, rather than what your guy is.

It's that "voting against" mathematical quality of a vote. Where intent has negative numeric value so that you can actually vote "against" the opponent. The price of doing so is to vote FOR Romney, but to you, that's irrelevant; the point is that you voted against Obama! Or Hillary. Or whatever nightmare du jour is looming.

RLock, intentions mean diddly. So what if you intend to vote "against" Obama or Hillary or whoever. The ACTION was to vote for the Republican party to advance the left's agenda. On five major fronts, Romney clearly has embraced and advanced government expansion, from government-run health care to forced formal acceptance of open homosexuality everywhere from adoption agencies to the military.

But wait -- it's that mathematical quality! You're not so much voting for that, you see, as you are voting against Obama, Hillary, et al. Except when Romney wins, Rock, what then?

What did voting "against" get you?

At least we'd have a thriving economy and affordable energy.

Clearly you are not acquainted with Romney's record on environmentalism, energy production, and overall regulation that burdens businesses. That's a real nice "thriving economy" in Massachusetts where a family has to literally flush something like $3,000 a month right down the toilet in order to meet health insurance requirements while the husband is between jobs. Zero doctors visits during that time, zero medical needs for this average young family, so at three months, that's $9,000 right down the toilet for absolutely zero service or product.

Thriving economy my foot.

“Obama”—or whatever his legal name is—has all the pieces in place to nuke the United States. Terrorists and their weapons have been streaming across the border for years. Now the government is flying planeloads of terrorists and heat-seeking missiles into the U.S. The U.S. is covered coast-to-coast with sleeper cells.

Just about what I expected when the U.S. “elected” a “president” with the middle name “Hussein.”

I’d love to have heard the responses in the streets of New York on 9/11 if someone had asked people what they thought of the idea of electing a president named “Hussein.”

ROCKLOBSTER:

So you guys keep saying but you are not changing a single vote from a single conservative over to a useless POS like Romney. Run him again. We'll beat him again. Rinse and repeat as often as necessary for you to get the message.

Romney is a babykiller, a gun grabber, a promoter of "gay" everything, a member of a family not known to have EVER provided even one soldier or sailor or airman to our military, neither in peace nor in war, is the son of a father and mother who both favored babykilling, and he is not worth "fighting for."

Obozo is not, whatever Obozo may imagine, the epicenter of American history. On or about 1/21/17. he will leave office. The republic has lasted this long and it ill last that long. What the republic cannot survive is the absence of a genuine opposition party to Obozo. Hint: McConnell, Boehner, Romney and their spineless ilk do NOT constitute an opposition party. They are cowards who refuse to fight when they can win. They have no principles whatsoever. All they are interested in is farming the US Chamber of Crony Capitalists for money for campaigns and trust funds. They are total disgraces.

Since 2010, we have heard how they cannot do anything without control of the Senate. They are now set up for temporary control of the Senate. The new mantra will be that they cannot do anything without control of the White House. They, no doubt, have a dictionary of excuses as to why they cannot get anything done even after they have control of the House, Senate and White House.

All of this is why a growing number of mere Republicans, to say nothing of actual conservatives, become committed to NEVER voting for trash like Romney or McCain or Dole or Bush the Elder EVER again. When the $$$$ dominated yacht club "Republicans" become totally unelectable, the GOP will collapse and we will be ready for a new second party.

Dig your heels in as deep as you like, you cannot save the GOP. The Party's over. It's time to call it a day! Trash like Willard can buy nominations but neither he nor anything like him can get the votes needed in November to be elected. The only thing you can do is to nominate a candidate WORTHY in his or her own right to receive conservative votes.

If your only priority is to defeat Obozo or the Arkansas Medusa or Fauxcahontas, you don't have much of an imagination and certainly not one worth following. The GOP seems to think that a governing vision and a commitment to principles and purposes are unnecessary. How many beatings do you suppose the GOP must absorb before the GOP gets the point? Aren't you embarrassed to lose again and again to Obozo and/or the Arkansas Medusa?

ROCKLOBSTER:

Oh, and the 2008 election was lost the day McCain secured the nomination. The 2012 election was lost the day that Willard secured the nomination. Lest I forget to mention it.

the stay-at-home conservatives have destroyed the US.

I, for one, did not stay at home. I didn't vote for Romney. I voted for a third-party candidate who also happens to be a long-standing member of this forum. I refused to waste my vote on a loser like Romney.

And, I don't think Romney's responsible for all this talk about Romney in 2016. I think it's all coming from his wife, Ann. That woman will never give up.

Go ahead, Willard, run again. It's probably better than a divorce. But, you know like I know that you'll just get stomped again.

You obviously don't have a very good memory for scumbag Romney's misrule of Taxachusetts. (Insert here the standard RINO excuses for Mittens) A TEApublican Congress????? Surely you jest. Did you watch this year's carnival of Wall Street and K Street $$$$ at work in Senate primaries. Also, you may not have noticed but Republicans are essentially monarchists.

You second last paragraph says it all. So long as the GOP's $$$$$ mantra is in force, nothing else matters. Maybe not to you. Conservatives do not share your lack of principles. Please God that we never will.

Run a liberal republican, lose...It's that simple.

There may not be any more elections.

It's that simple.

That sounds like an empty threat. Not even Ann Romney has the power to prevent us from having elections.

I'm as conservative as they come, and my posting history shows me not a Romney supporter BUT!!!

My principles do not include turning the US over to the moslems and communists as "your principles" apparently do.

Besides Republican voters, you have no other voting bloc to enact "your principles" ...Your principles will do you no good if you are enslaved or dead, and if you have children or grandchildren, "your principles" have just given them the finger...and The Obamanation.

And the GOP ran RINO’s the last 2 Presidential elections.

My advice. Don’t run another RINO or you will see history repeat itself.

Obama will want out by the end of 2016.

The problem is that if the GOP nominates another loser, we're going to have at least four years of Hillary and you will have even more time to predict the end of elections.

We don't have the luxury of pretending that there isn't going to be an election in 2016. There's going to be an election and it's time to nominate a winner, someone who stands for something and isn't afraid to say so.

Ted Cruz - 2016!

Let’s see, open borders, ISIS American citizen sleeper cells, simultaneous terrorist attacks in NYC, Chicago, Los Angeles...

Instant martial law, shut down communications, electric power and the internet, FEMA camps, ISIS-USA, beheadings.

Five years ago, if I had told you how it was going to be today in the US, you would have laughed at me.
