Poll suggests Romney on top in Iowa if he runs again
CNN ^ | 8/27/14 | Paul Steinhauser

He keeps saying no to third run for the White House, but another new poll – this time in Iowa – indicates Mitt Romney would be the front runner for the Republican presidential nomination if he changes his mind.

A USA Today/Suffolk University survey of Iowa voters released Wednesday should add to the feeding frenzy over a possible 2016 presidential bid by the 2012 GOP nominee. While the former Massachusetts governor's repeatedly said he's not running again, the attention such speculation captures is a sign of the wide open nature right now of the upcoming Republican nomination race.

Yeah, let’s nominate Mittens again. After all, he has proven that he’s “electable.”

This is a win-win for the left and the gope, either they get Romney, or more likely, they give him top influence in the party politics and make him the top endorser of the primary.

It props up the most far left candidate of the GOP ever, so far left that he is barely beaten out by only a couple or a few democratic presidential nominees, the elder statesman of the current GOP.

NOOOOOoooooooooo!

Personally, I think the Dems want him to get his little egocentric wealthy self out there and run again, because they know that no matter who or what they run against him, that person or thing would win.

OK, I know no one wants Mitt, but this fascinates me. So can we focus on the WHY?

Poll is Iowa Republicans, NOT likely Iowa Republican caucus goers.

It is 2014, and Romney garnered all of 35%. If he was in a list with 10 or more other candidates, his name recognition catches the non-Caucus going Republican.

This poll is meaningless. Check back in a YEAR with a Caucus-goers only poll and 6 or fewer candidates.

Very nice of all of the leftist news outlets to tell us who should be our candidate.

Because he’s pro gay, and the gay MSM hasn’t found anyone they like better to push for the GOP nomination.

Don't be nervous. The poll was of 500 people by telephone over three days with a 4.4 percent margin for error. Hardly worth our concern.

No, this is the MSM trying to drive the news, they want him to run so they won't be bothered by developing a new strategy to beat him.

He was also right about Benghazi being a terror attack and Obama’s denial, despite the Candy Crowley sandbagging at the debate.

Iowa and New Hampshire should not lead off the primaries. Both are far too liberal. Oklahoma and Alabama are far more representative of real American values based on Biblical principles.

I would vote for Mickey Mouse against any RAT at this point.

So let me guess....Hillary is definitely your next president, as Mickey probably isn’t running.

The FR consensus is that Hilary would be a far superior president.

Just as it was that obama would be.

Note that FR members have never supported any GOP presidential candidate... until the last few weeks in the cycle.

I’ve got my Ted Cruz bumper sticker on my car NOW! I sure wish I have a billion dollars to buy an NBC, CBS or ABC news channel so HONEST CONSERVATIVE news could get through this crapola! CNN did this poll so that needs to be said first!

It’s Iowa republicanism, which has little to do with conservatism.

Ugh ... [Romney, Huckabee, Christie, Perry, Paul, Santorum, Ryan, Rubio] ... If these guys are the choices, we’re getting Hillary. What in the hell is it going to take for people to wake up???

How long is it going to take the Republican party to wake up to the fact that it has been abandoned as a bad joke?

Yeah, although he may have won the election had it not been for the obama fraud machine and those who couldn’t get off their principle pedestals to vote against obama, who will go down in history as the worst president EVER. Romney got 49% compared to the jerk president’s 51%. How’s that working out for you. NOT working out for me. Just saying.

Although it wasn't the case in 2000 (until late), I recall that the boss as well as Free Republic stalwarts were solidly behind George W. Bush in the 2004 elections from the outset.
