I wondered what happened to Carbon-Tetrachloride. I used to use it for degreasing the chambers in a S&W Model 53(?) in .22 Jet before shooting. That was the only way I could keep the case from backing up against the recoil shield and jamming the revolver.
It’s my fault. Okay, I admit it. I’m responsible for this one.
I’d been storing a couple hundred million metric tons of leftover carbon tetrachloride in my garage for the last 10 years or so.
Then, a while back, my wife started complaining about not being able to park her car inside “because of all of those damned drums full of that damned cleaning solvent”, so I had to dump it in a nearby river.
Wouldn’t want to make her mad, you know...

I’ve noticed that too.
Yup. The sun when there are no clouds is supposed to feel warm in the summer, but this summer it’s been different. It feels magnified, like the way a window will magnify the heat of sunlight coming through it. Like I said, even on a 70 degree day, it’s becoming intolerable to walk more than a few blocks in direct sunlight.
